Adrian M #1 Posted September 17, 2004 Note the lack of excitement in my tone. This game, according to rumors, is hitting the PS2. http://appsrv-3.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3134639

Adrian M #3 Posted September 17, 2004 Don't you hate Sega anyway? Yes. But the original Sega Rally (Saturn) and the Genesis are some of the few exceptions. This news is a damn shame though. After the terrible Sega Rally 2, (and the lack of any real news regarding the N-Gage version), I was hoping that a sequel would emerge to set things right for the maligned series. In the grand scheme of things though, other Rally franchises like the Colin McRae series (and a shareware title on the Mac) have taken the opportunity to give us rally fans great games since then. eldunko #4 Posted September 17, 2004 As cool as Sega Rally is, i'd figure that in today's age of flashy movie special effects, a game like Viruta Cop 3 would absolutely kill.

Adrian M #6 Posted September 17, 2004 [i was hoping that a sequel would emerge to set things right for the maligned series. . A sequel HAS emerged to set things right. Well as sequel does appear to have emerged, but the jury is still out as to whether or not it will right the wrongs done to the series over the last few years. Thinking some more about this development, seeing how the PS2 has missed out on the last 2 Colin McRae games (USA at least) and factoring in that they have no real regularly updated rally franchises, this is probably Sega's way of filling the void for that platform. liveinabin #7 Posted September 17, 2004 I really feel sorry for Sega and, indeed, the Japanese games industry in general. With the great shift to the west that we've seen of late, it seems that japanese game co.s don't know what to make anymore. Poor Sega, they're dragging up past glories, polishing them off and trying to compete with the new stuff. Look at Outrun 2 for example, Sega get ready to whip that out and Burnout 3 comes out of bloody Guildford (I used to LIVE in Guildford, for christs sake) and trip it right up. I can't imagine this new Sega Rally will turn many heads or even be that great.
PaulEMoz #8 Posted September 18, 2004 I can't imagine this new Sega Rally will turn many heads or even be that great. Well, they have to get the handling right. It was amazing in SEGA Rally on the Saturn, but horrible on the Dreamcast. I think it might play a bit like OutRun 2 in the dirt, which wouldn't be a bad thing, but whether it would make a good SEGA Rally game....we'll have to wait and see. I'm still looking forward to it.
