Albert #2 Posted October 30, 2001 Yes, I now use Cart Commander to keep track of my personal collection. Although I can't talk about them yet, we're working with the program's author, Brien King, to add features to Cart Commander that visitors to AtariAge will appreciate. ..Al

Albert #4 Posted October 30, 2001 Sorry, I shouldn't prematurely reveal any features in upcoming versions of Cart Commander until the versions of Cart Commander with those features have released. In due time. ..Al
Sylentwulf #5 Posted October 31, 2001 I really like cart commander, but it would be SOOOOO much easier if they had a list of every game/instruction/overlay/etc built in or downloadable with checkboxes or something similiar, I know, huge undertaking, just my three cents. ubersaurus #6 Posted October 31, 2001 The weakness of cart commander is the lack of having more systems. I mean, wheres the Super NES or channel f?
Albert #7 Posted October 31, 2001 quote: Originally posted by ubersaurus: The weakness of cart commander is the lack of having more systems. I mean, wheres the Super NES or channel f? Cart Commander is still a relatively young and evolving program and I'm sure support for more systems will be added over time. You can use it with any system if you don't mind typing in the information for the carts yourself. Heck, if you can find a list of SNES carts somewhere on the net you could probably import that list into Cart Commander relatively easily. If you just want to track carts you own, then simply having a list of SNES games with the Name and Company (comma-delimited) would probably suffice. ..Al

Brien King is pretty good about taking suggestions, so I would go to the Cart Commander page and drop him a line as to what you'd like to see. I know I have a list of features I'd like to see added. ..Al

That is what the Master Lists are for. There are currently master lists for the more popular consoles (2600, Intellivision, Coleco, etc..). When you go to "Cartridges->Add" the "Add" dialog will come up. At the top is the list of Master Lists available in the drop down. Choose a list and then you can "Check" which games you want added to your list. The lists are farily complete, but not 100%. Over time, those lists should get better. Go to "Tools->Options..." then choose the third tab on the dialog called "Platforms". You can add the platform there. Once you are done with that, you can then load your list in and choose "Tools->Verify Manufactures" and it will ask you if you want to create a list of Manufactures for this list. Tell it yes. Once that is done, send me the .INI file for the platform you created. It will be in the Cart Commander directory.
ubersaurus #11 Posted October 31, 2001 I'll do that when I get home from work here. I have a number of companies for the SNES, and channel f, well, is pretty simple.
ubersaurus #12 Posted November 1, 2001 Ok, it's not allowing me to list manufacturers. I don't see why not.. Nevermind, I got it working now. I've catalogued my whole N64 collection. [ 10-31-2001: Message edited by: ubersaurus ]
fsuinnc #13 Posted November 1, 2001 I have been trying to get my collection into Cart Commander and it seems like a great program. One feature I would like to see is that instead of check boxes for instructions, boxes, sealed boxes I would like to be able to enter numbers. When I have 1 sealed box, 2 complete boxed games, 2 instructions and 3 loose copies of a game (aside from having too many of one game) I don't know how to enter it without putting it in as 6 seperate rows. Maybe I'm missing something but a count of each would be easier for me (this applies to overlays too).
Scooterb23 #14 Posted November 1, 2001 I love the Cart Commander, I have everything stored on it, my only problem is that as far as I can tell, there isn't a way to import it to my Handspring Visor (unless I have missed an update or two which would have taken care of that) so I can bring my lists with me when I go out so I don't buy RealSports Football for the 4th time...make that 5th time. (Why can't I remember that I already have a few copies of that game??? Same with Dig Dug). Keep up the great work on CC

ubersaurus #16 Posted November 1, 2001 I suppose you have a point at that. Ah well, it certainly is a useful program!

You can import these files into almost any spread sheet or database program. If you use the Export feature, you can just export the fields you want as well.
