Wolf9545 #1 Posted September 21, 2004 Let's start a topic that has everyone's tricks and tips on cleaning a 2600 system and it's other parts. The tips and tricks can be the common ones that everyone knows. I always noticed that by having a game that doesn't always work, after cleaning the contacts with rubbing alcohol, I have to apply some pressure while turning the game on. Voch #2 Posted September 21, 2004 Are we talking about the electronics or the plastics? I've removed the board/electronics from all my 2600s and have scrubbed the plastics with soap and water. I did the same for my (then very, very dirty and bug-infested) Atari 5200 that my coworker gave me. I say if the system is physically dirty and the electronics can be completely removed easily to just use soap-and-water to clean the plastic... candiru #4 Posted September 21, 2004 Just don't use Armor-All I think what you're trying to say is be careful with the regular spray type and use the Armor All wipes instead.
Wolf9545 #5 Posted September 21, 2004 What I want in this topic is how to get the different problems ( when a game is playing you get a rolling screen, etc.) fixed. It can also be how to just simply clean the outside of the system or anything related to repair/fixing the system/controllers.
