szndrlvy #1 Posted September 23, 2004 This has been discussed before, but I didn't see any solutions. I'm currently running a PIV 3.0 GHz system with 1 Gig of RAM and a SBLive sound card, in a Windows XP Home Edition environment, though when I run either the Sella or z26 emulators, the sounds is all skippy and choppy. Have any of you experiencing this problem found a solution? -==[szandor]==-

I've tested Stella on my 3 GHz laptop with onboard sound (notoriously known to be crappy) and it sounded fine. My main development box (where Stella is actually developed) is a P4-2.4GHz w/ 1GB RAM and SBLIve!, so that almost exactly matches your system. It sounds even better there, due to the better sound card. Have you tried changing the fragment size in the Config section of StellaX. A value of 2048 seems to work best, but some systems may be able to handle lower. But, if it can't handle lower fragment sizes, it will sound choppy. Otherwise, I don't have a clue Steve
szndrlvy #3 Posted September 23, 2004 Yes, it's the newest version, and no, I didn't change the fragment size . . . I'll try that tonight, when I get home, and shoot you a PM to let you know how it went. Thanks! -==[szandor]==-
