GrandviewCoin #1 Posted September 23, 2004 Picked this game up and it's stellar! You can download the demo, but I was wondering if anybody else here picked it up and wanted to play a multi player game? thanks Daniel
Hydian #2 Posted September 23, 2004 Oooo...it's out? I played the beta for a few weeks and it is really good (and I don't generally care for RTS games.)
Invader_dag #3 Posted September 23, 2004 ahh, the beta fun i had with my brother and friends. a truly great game, the best thing since Star Craft in my opinion. I Love how it has the feature of being able to reinforce your squads and customize their weapons. I got this the same day i got SW:BattleFront, so all my free time was spent between work and Battlefront, but i know i won`t be dissapointed in the final version. I hope they release a expansion with Dark Eldar and Daemon Hunters, or even the Imperial Guard. But the 4 that are in game all are great and plenty different for me. I would love to play online sometime, but i always get slaughtered unless i play as the Chaos, which i don't like as much as the Eldar
GrandviewCoin #4 Posted September 23, 2004 Well, this game is awesome multiplayer. But if your looking for a story line along Warcraft III for length, look elsewhere. There are only 10 missions or so in the Space Marine Campaign. But then again ALL Games Workshop miniature games are all multiplayer, so it would be siily to expect a long single player story.. Hydian #5 Posted September 24, 2004 I disagree....all of the games workshop computer games so far have been pretty long for single player.
Invader_dag #6 Posted September 24, 2004 i think he was talking about the table top games. but for PC games, they have most definetly been only single player until now, and sucked to boot. but Space Hulk was always good. DoW has made me crave a good update to Space Hulk, but where you still move like a crippled slug, none of this general twitch fest FPS games. mmmm.... terminators.... mmmmm.... genestealers..... mmmmm...... GrandviewCoin #7 Posted September 24, 2004 Yup was talking table top.. I can't tell you how many revisions of the rules I've had to re-buy since '88. First picked up on Warhammer stuff when I was a senior. I just wish there wer more people around WI that played. Daniel Oh, and played multiplayer teams tonight, was awesome! Hydian #8 Posted September 24, 2004 The 40k games all had multi player other than space hulk (which is a seperate game in it's own right and not really 40k anyway.) It was all one off scenarios, but there was multiplay. I just hope that they don't immediately abandon this one like the others and put out some new armies and stuff. They should since thise is the first one with a multi player focus rather than being focused on single player. Oh...and if you like Blood Bowl, here's a really good java based version. they have leagues and everything... http://fumbbl.com/
Invader_dag #9 Posted September 25, 2004 I think this game will stick around for awhile, cause Relic has always been good to their fans. if i'm not mistaken, they did a mod for impossible creatures themselves. Even if there isn't, it's modable enough for other groups of programmers to do some awesome stuff
Invader_dag #10 Posted September 25, 2004 Heh, sorry about that, you were right about them being multiplayer, i was thinking of Warhammer which i can only find a few 1 player and a single 1-2 player game, but 40k does have multiplayer mostly
Hydian #11 Posted September 25, 2004 Yeah...the only bad thing is that they never supported additional armies or anything so the multiplayer was generally bland.
