tha_ninjalo #1 Posted October 3, 2004 I've just recently gotten into Lynx emulation and the problem I'm having is with Handy v9.0. It won't recognize my joystick even though all of my other emus do, is there anyway to fix this, like maybe a special config or ini file? I noticed Handy doesn't write one when you change things. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated!
+karri #2 Posted October 7, 2004 Handy writes a lot of stuff in he registry. [HKEY_USERSS-1-5-21-1204423822-442407777-4146868631-1005SoftwareIrwell Expert SystemshandyVersion 1.0] "JoystickEnabled"=dword:00000000 Perhaps setting a one here would help? -- Cheers Karri
Classic Pac #3 Posted October 7, 2004 If you need and older version, I have one with about 79 roms. Which I could send to you as a zip file. PM me if you want it.
xenomorpher #4 Posted October 7, 2004 tha_ninjalo even though this is off topic but I love your avatar (big Bruce Campbell fan and Evi Dead One as well) and welcome
tha_ninjalo #5 Posted October 8, 2004 I appreciate all of the help and the comments ! I tried editing the registry, but Handy keeps overwriting it every time I change the value, any suggestions? BTW, Classic Pac, I appreciate the offer, but unfortunately Time Warner is working on my cable connection right now, so I'm stuck on dial-up, so I wouldn't want you to have to sit around for 3 days for me to get that from you, lol. And xenomorpher thanks for the props on my avatar, Hail to Bruce Campbell, baby!
tha_ninjalo #6 Posted October 19, 2004 Well, I went and downloaded M.E.S.S. and now I can use my controller for my Lynx games. Thanks for all the help.
+karri #7 Posted October 20, 2004 I tried to get a look at MESS as well, but I only get a box saying: THIS SYSTEM DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY Type OK to continue After this I do get the yellow INSERT GAME message. So it did load the lynx.bin rom from /usr/share/games/bios/ How did you run MESS? I tried with xmess lynx cart.lnx xmess lynx binary.com xmess lynx cart.lyx All with the same result -- Karri
tha_ninjalo #8 Posted October 20, 2004 Go to this site http://www.geocities.com/messroms/ it has an almost complete list of the bios you need for M.E.S.S. including the proper Lynx bios. Hope this helps.
