Blackjack #1 Posted October 4, 2004 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8136525644&rd=1 I don't know anything about protos, sounds like maybe a cool find though.
MegaManFan #2 Posted October 5, 2004 I had the high bid on this one, but eBay just pulled it.
Tempest #3 Posted October 5, 2004 Interesting how this one didn't go through after all the rest of his did. Luck of the draw or did someone rat him out? Anyway it looked interesting. I beileve it was a WIP version of Haunted House. I would have loved to get my hands on that one. Sigh... Tempest
MegaManFan #4 Posted October 5, 2004 Matt, you have hundreds of protos, couldn't you let me have just this one? Just kidding. Doesn't matter since neither of us will get it now. I had the feeling I should have asked the seller a question to get his name and e-mail for a contact in case it got pulled, but I have been really swamped with work so I didn't bother. Now I wish I had. I have the feeling his reserve would have been higher than I wanted to pay anyway though (I had the high bid but the reserve hadn't been met). Philflound #5 Posted October 5, 2004 I don't understand Ebay at all. But when I get ready to sell my 2 Fireworld protos, I think I may just auction it here instead. Phil
Blackjack #6 Posted October 5, 2004 Please explain to me why they pulled this auction. I don't understand pulling protos.
Mock #7 Posted October 5, 2004 I devided you guys were right, I should get involved more with ebay...so I reported it for you. you guys are swell.
Blackjack #8 Posted October 5, 2004 Big difference between reporting spamming and illegal activity than trying to sell a proto. I think you should drop it now instead of bringing it to other threads with you.
video game addict #9 Posted October 5, 2004 Big difference between reporting spamming and illegal activity than trying to sell a proto. I think you should drop it now instead of bringing it to other threads with you. Yes there is a big difference between listing something for sale, & reporting(trying to have ended) auctions by others. But NO there isn't a big difference between spamming, illegal activities, & selling prototypes. The difference is a matter of personal opinion, and it's often compared to assholes. Everyone's got one... blah blah.. I think you got the idea.
Nukey Shay #10 Posted October 5, 2004 Please explain to me why they pulled this auction. I don't understand pulling protos. It's against the evil neighbor's rules to even list a proto (because intellectual rights of those are a pretty grey area). Ebay's stance is just to forbid them altogether. AFAIK, BIDiot does not have this restriction...nor does the marketplace forum here When selling sno-cones, go to someplace warm.

Spirantho #14 Posted October 6, 2004 OK, then, who bought it? Own up..! Apparently it has been sold... anyone know where it went?
Tempest #15 Posted October 6, 2004 Apparently it has been sold... anyone know where it went? It went to good home. BTW it wasn't me! However the new owner has promised that I will be able to have access to the prototype. So expect a new review soon. Tempest
Spirantho #16 Posted October 6, 2004 It went to good home. Excellent - that was all I was concerned about. BTW it wasn't me! However the new owner has promised that I will be able to have access to the prototype. So expect a new review soon. Excellent - I look forward to reading what this proto is all about (exciting, ain't it? )
Tempest #17 Posted October 6, 2004 I look forward to reading what this proto is all about Well what we're hoping (and my best guess) is that it's a work in progress version of Haunted House. There's a chance that it's the final version, but I believe I have seen a HH prototype with a later date so odds are good it's different. MegaManFan #18 Posted October 6, 2004 Apparently it has been sold... anyone know where it went? It went to good home. No it didn't. It didn't go to my home, and I actually bid on it.
Tempest #19 Posted October 6, 2004 No it didn't. It didn't go to my home, and I actually bid on it. I think it would have been much happier sitting on my shelf next to all its friends... Tempest
MegaManFan #20 Posted October 6, 2004 The lesson I need to learn here is never bid on a prototype without getting the seller's contact info first. I shant forget. Haunted House would have had plenty of friends here. Maybe not prototypes like it, but with other 700+ Atari games, it would have felt right at home. Hell, even *I* have a Lab Loaner Ms. Pac-Man. I'm STILL kicking myself for not borrowing another $20 to get the Krull prototype the guy was selling with it.
