Cool auction that they probably shoulda pulled

Since we're carping on ebay pulling or not pulling auctions, I was a little surprised that this got online with no problems:

You'd think that since they didn't allow WTC remains and other similar disaster related items on ebay, that this would get the boot too. Instead I got a press release in my computer today from the people who posted it.

 

Cool auction though. Maybe if I sell that crate of boxed Air Raids that I've been using as a coffee table, I could buy it.

Heh. I remember on www.drivenbyboredom.com (not school/work apropriate FYI) there is a section on crap this dude was purposely selling on ebay. He bent up a coat hanger and covered it in duct tape and firstly called it a piece of the MIR Space Station, then John Denver's Plane, and the MIR Space Station again.

 

There's a LOT of funny auctions on it.

It's not so much what's being sold as to how it's being sold. When the WTC is on flames & there are people posting chunks of rock & debris on ebay, of course they are going to go after these scalpers. But a 60+ year old accident doesn't quite have the same effect now in today. It's history. Really cool item too, but a bit out of my league.

 

So how big are these Quick drop places I was watching another quickdrop auction on ebay recently same format with the infomercial blaring while I looked at their crappy pics. I've got to wonder why this isn't a feature auction plus or front page listing with it's background. If it is legit, & especially with the starting price, you'd think they'd go all the way. Auction's been up a couple days and has less than 1000 hits. Sad.
