Pac-Man spotted on the way to work...

I spotted this billboard on the way to work earlier this week, and finally got around to taking a picture of it.

 

For those not familiar with the chain, Sonic is a 50's style drive-in that sells hamburgers, corn-dogs, and stuff like that. They specialize in lots of different drinks, with everything from flavored drinks (vanilla root beer and cherry coke) to lots of slushees, mixes and shakes. One of their signature drinks is the cherry limeade, although this billboard seems to be advertising a strawberry limeade of some sort!

No, but I tried. On the way TO work I snapped a photo out the window. Turned out fairly blurry and had part of the car in the frame. For this one, I actually pulled over, got out, and snapped the photo.

Sonic's are growing like weeds around the central Florida area. We had one in Tampa about a year ago and now there must be 15 to 20 of them with more being built all around. Pretty good food (Supersonic Cheeseburger and Tater Tot's.....yum yum) delivered by female teens on roller skates; gives new meaning to Meals on Wheels

 

Haven't seen that billboard, though.

I likee Sonic if only for ther half priced drinks between 3 and 5. I have a frienfd though who likes to order a peanutbutter milkshake with bubblegum flavoring! You should hear the person on the other end of the speaker when he orders that!

Burger King has gone through this phase too. Remember the Rodeo Burger? You Can't Handle The Rodeo Burger! Actually I always thought that kind of sounded like a slang word for cow droppings!

Actually it's an ad for raspberry limeade.

 

With the popularity of the Jakks sticks, even the little kids know who Pac Man is so it's a good promotion. I wonder if they paid Namco for this?

They have commercials for Sonic all the time in the Detroit area, yet there is not a single Sonic located in the entire state of Michigan. I hope they open one here soon because those slushees look damn tasty.

Just about everything at Sonic is damn tasty. Sometimes it seems like you can't drive a half mile in any direction in Oklahoma without passing one, which is fine by me.

We have several here in Omaha, and yes they are.. well acceptable. I shouldn't say tasty or Nova might say something about the onion rings. I'd rather get a burger at Sonic than a lot of places though, given the time and money, and they have a lemon strawberry slush the Mrs and I really love.

Heh, I thought it was just me. On Wednesdays, I drive home from work and then go to school.

 

That path takes me past the Sonic off of Reno and Macarthur, the Sonic off of Reno and Mustang, then to my house, and then on the way back to 39th I have to drive back past the Sonic at Reno and Mustang, then I can either take 23rd and go past the Sonic at 23rd and Council or take 39th and go past the one at 39th and Rockwell.

 

From Reno to 39th is 4 miles, and from Macarthur to Mustang Road is four miles.
