First, exactly which light bulb are you debating? And keep in mind that post industrial revolution, credit goes to the first to patent the invention, not just the first to find it.

 

Second: Did someone say "Iced Tea?" Ugh. Tea, under NO circumstance should be served cold. What's the point?

 

To all involved: Am I the only one who is totally loving this give and take cultural exchange? It is refreshing to know that the world is still a diverse place and has not been Disney-fied or fallen victim to Political Correctness.

Who says? I for one give credit to Winsor McCay for inventing the modern process of cel animation, no matter that he had no business sense and was conned out of it by someone who patented it first.

Last time I heard, this thread was supposed to be about an Atari radio show, not the English (no offense to any of you).

Anyway, sorry 70's, I cant listen to your show. I go to school early in the morning (first period starts at 7:40). Is it possible to swap your Tuesday morning slot for a Saturday morning slot or a Friday afternoon slot? Just wondering.

Sadly in this age of over-litigation and legal froo-froo, history will most likely recall those who first obtained legal proof of invention as the "real" or "official" inventors. It may not be fair, but that looks like the way it may be. Don't mistake me for a fan of this idea, just realistic about it.

well as far as i know, a german physician invented the computer. the first really working one was built in usa (at the MIT?).

Computers were invented by a French Ingineer who recently win an action in law and received (him/his familly ?) a *Big* indemnity from the society who "stole" is invention paternity.

 

I give you the information as I get it in a scientific TV magazine I watch 15 days ago.

If I didn't have to work most days when you are on, I'd give you a buzz. PLUS you have the unfortunate task of competing with Howard Stern. PLUS, We have a local station here that uses the same freq. But if you get it up and running on the internet, I'll try to listen when I can and perhaps give you a ring. Did you give the phone # yet?

Well, dependswhat you mean by computer, Mr Babbages creation was called a difference engine, it didnt use electricity but it calculated as a computer does, and it pre-empted all the rest of that stuff
