dvdguy #1 Posted October 21, 2004 Here's my intensely thought-provoking question... Those of you with big collections that were gamers back during the 2600 heyday... what games now considered rather common did you either not own or have never even played? At my height, my collection was over 300 carts... but I never had Demons to Diamonds. To this day I've never even touched one.
Lord Helmet #2 Posted October 21, 2004 I never owned Berzerk as a kid. I think Defender came out at around the same time, and I had my choice of one of them...and I picked Defender... Should have picked Berzerk cuz it is a much better game.
goatdan #3 Posted October 21, 2004 Yars Revenge. I heard great things about it and have never played it for more than a minute once.
candiru #4 Posted October 21, 2004 I only had about a dozen games as a kid and not many of my friends had an Atari so I missed out on quite a few. I have all the R1s and all but 1 of the R2s (Crossbow -- Is this really a 2???). I just recently tracked down Popeye and Crystal Castles so I haven't played those much yet. I try to play all my games at least enough to get a good feel for them, but I must admit I haven't put much time into the likes of 3D Tic-Tac-Toe, Backgammon, or the Swordquest titles. In a way it makes the hobby that much more interesting because most of my acquisitions are new to me.

I never played the board game carts either...I take that back, I had the activision version of Checkers, but i didn't play it much.

kemsted #7 Posted October 21, 2004 Air Raid... never realized it was so common. Dang ferris, when I saw the title of the thread, I was gonna post that. Oh well
Radio F Software #8 Posted October 22, 2004 Back when I was 7 or 8 (which is when I found my first Atari in my dad's storage) I read the game cataloge and really wanted Basic Programming for some reason. However back then, the Atari 2600 I thought was just so old it never really existed much anymore. Boy, I was wrong. Ironically, I still do not have a copy of Basic Programming at all since I began collecting, nor do I have a working TV Switchbox.

I played this one for a long time on my friend's standalone Atari paddle beofre I got the real thing. It was lots of fun
Sauza12 #10 Posted October 22, 2004 There are a number of commons that I haven't played, but the most well known are Demons to Diamonds, Haunted House, and Yars Revenge. Well, actually I have played Yars Revenge, but I only played it for the first timer a few days ago when I finally downloaded an emulator onto my computer. Lauren Tyler #11 Posted October 22, 2004 Although I've played it on emulator and classic compilations, I never owned a copy of Activision's Tennis, although I'd love to now.
rockman_x_2002 #12 Posted October 22, 2004 Never had (or really played) Maze Craze. Seen it in several catalogs but never owned it.
Radio F Software #13 Posted October 22, 2004 Well what a coincedence, I have a copy of Tennis and Maze Craze for sale!
rexreed #14 Posted October 23, 2004 I'm not trying to be a punk, but the shipping prices at Radio F are absolutely riciculous. It's cheaper to buy in smaller lots ?
Radio F Software #15 Posted October 23, 2004 My mom suggested not to keep them real low since shipping 2 games I beleive costed around $1.87. I'll work that one out though, I already sold a whole lot of stuff to one person, in person.
Osmeroid #16 Posted October 23, 2004 Never owned Basic Programming - nor do I have Basic Math or A Game of Concentration, although I do have the last two as Fun With Numbers and Hunt & Score. I must admit that I really do like D2D, although I'm sure that'll make Stan quite depressed to hear it
SteveW #17 Posted October 24, 2004 Looking over AtariAge's (1)Common and (2)Common+ lists, there's actually a lot more that I haven't played than I thought there would be. Too many to list here. I've never been a hardcore VCS collector, though. I just bought games that interested me, and what was available in my area.
Stingray #18 Posted October 25, 2004 I've never played Casino, which is an R1. -S
