Got my Joyboard... What a blast!

Ok, I know not everyone has a joyboard controller, for those who don't know what they are http://www.atariage.com/controller_page.ht...ControllerID=11

 

This thing is too cool. You can plug a joystick into the front of it so you get fire button usage. I plugged it into my stelladapter and I'm playing everything with my feet now. You should try playing pitfall with one of these, it's a trip! I even tried space treat for the hi score club, but the game kinda freaks out on the joyboard.

 

Ok, it could work better, sure. But what a cool and unusual piece. This is the kind of stuff I like to collect... the unusual and/or weird items

I hope you're not standing on it and if you are, I hope you're not an adult type person. Those things are only meant to hold up to a certain weight before they break AFAIK.

[laughing profusely] No, I'm 6'3" and 250 lbs. I just put it at the base of my chair. I didn't think it would be able to hold up under my weight, so I didn't even try.

If you like using your feet to play games, this controller's a lot of fun as well. What rocks about it is you can assign the buttons different functions which is great for games like Spy Hunter that require 2 controllers:

I bought a Joyboard a couple/few years back, but more for its value as Amiga memerobilia than Atari memeraobilia.

I have a joyboard(I sit when I use it though ) It is fun for some games. I tried it with Thrust+. Not a good idea, that game is tough enough without having to wiggle my feet/legs around

The joybard was designed to work with other planned Amiga games, such as "Off Your Rocker" and "Surf's Up". For grins, have beer party and try to play Mogul Maniac while drunk with joyboard :wink:

 

BTW: I have an extra Joyboard for sale or trade.

hmmm, the last time i tried my joyboard was when i was a kid, and light enough to stand on it. I kept falling off, so it wasn't a very enjoyable controller, but I bet the sitting down to use it method may actually make this controller of some use to me... surprised I didn't think of it.

 

Yea, and to think, the Amiga computers came from money made off of stinky 2600 players feet.
