How makings dumps of VCS games

I would like to make dumps of some of my Pal games than I can't find for emulators.

 

I would like to know how it is possible to make dumps of VCS cartridges ?

Probably the easiest way is with a modified 7800.

Another 7800 mod, this one doesn't require a PC parallel port, but does require a MAX232 chip for an RS-232 level converter: http://xi6.com/hacks/7800dump.html

 

Someday I should make up a diagram of how to make the RS-232 adapter. Since I mostly use Macs, this is a much better solution for me. All I need is a 7800, its power supply, my adapter, and a Powerbook, and I can be ready to dump in under a minute. Anywhere.

 

Thank goodness I was smart enough to make my adapter bi-directional. I'm writing an assembly language monitor that uses it. (In fact, I already got the Apple II monitor running with it.)
