Testcart

Recommended Posts

I've made a better diagnostic cart called Testcart. It's for testing out consoles and controllers. It test joysticks, paddles, keyboards, console switches, etc. It's got a text display so it's easy to use.

I don't have time to make a whole lot of these, but I've got a couple extras right now. They're $30 (or equivalent trade) shipped, and they come with a printed label and instructions.

If you're interested, check out my projects page at:

WoW! That sounds cool. Any chance you will mass produce them at some time? I don't have much use for one right now, but perhaps in the future. You've really created something, what a great tool.

Well played old bean, Stan

Wow is what I have to say too.

I also like your Atari 2600 Menu Multicart, on your web page.

I hope you do get around to mass producing these items. Do you have anything else you are working on?

Simply amazing..

I might eventually transfer the Testcart to Hozer if the demand gets to be more than I can handle. I'm not sure how many people trade or own enough 2600 hardware to want one. But I sure use mine a lot more than I thought I would.

My latest project is an 8k/16k bankswitching multicart with 96 games. I got one partially working yesterday, but the 16k games are having some problems. I might sell a few of these at some point if I get the bugs ironed out.

Hi Paul! Your Testcart looks pretty cool, I'd like to get one of them. Also, I noticed you're working on a game called Marble Craze. How's it coming along? I'd like to add it to our Games in Development page. A screenshot would be great. I especially like the idea of using both paddle controllers..

Marble Craze? Paddle controllers? Sounds like that game might be a variation of the old game Labyrinth where you control 2 knobs to tild the board and try to get the ball to finish spot without losing the ball in the hole.

I'd be interested in that.

I have found Paul's testcart indespensible. If you ever need to test large quantities of controllers, including keypads and paddles it's a real timesaver. I also have been using it to help adjust the color on my 2600's and test all the switches. It is a lot more user friendly than Atari's diagnostic cart. If you sell systems or controllers don't hesitate to get one.

I give it 2 joysticks up. (This was an unsolicited endorsement)
