Curt Vendel #1 Posted October 23, 2004 Was this ever released? I have found a copy of it and I thought it strange that I've never seen any mention of Food Fight on the ST before. Curt
oesii #2 Posted October 23, 2004 I'm pretty sure it wasn't released commercially on the ST. Could it be a homebrew or a PD disk? Or does it have the Atari logo on the disk
Goochman #3 Posted October 23, 2004 Screenshots - .ST disk I never saw it either and loved that game on the XE line.
geosteve #4 Posted October 24, 2004 I've researched and/or own most every Atari/Atari Games arcade game released for the ST computers. I do not recall ever seeing this one
Curt Vendel #5 Posted October 24, 2004 Well then, here it is... I guess Atari just never got around to releasing it on the ST, I may have a few other games not released by Atari. Curt foodfiht.zip
Curt Vendel #6 Posted October 24, 2004 BTW... this game works well on the ST's and Mega ST, it does not like TT's Curt
Inky #7 Posted October 24, 2004 I can't seem to get it running under Steem. It just hangs at a rainbow-decompressing screen. What TOS does it work with?
oesii #8 Posted October 24, 2004 I can't seem to get it running under Steem. It just hangs at a rainbow-decompressing screen. What TOS does it work with? I couldn't get it to work on my Mac or PC emulators either. I just get the rainbow screen and the intro music. I tried several TOS versions, 1.02, 1.04, 1.62, and 2.06. Both US and UK versions I'll have to fire up my ST later today and see if it runs on the real thing unless someone figures it out on Steem.
Inky #9 Posted October 24, 2004 Does the .prg file have to be put in an Auto folder, perhaps? I'll try it out later.
oesii #10 Posted October 28, 2004 Got this response in another Atari forum: The reason it doesn't run is simple and has nothing to do with Steem: there are files missing! It tries to load a file named "TITLE.FIL", does not find it and goes into an infinite color flashing loop. There are more files missing that should be on the disk: GEEZER.SPR BOARD.FIL CHR.SET Perhaps these were invisible files on the original disk? So is there a way to get the extra files? Was this game on a floppy or on a hard drive? If floppy maybe someone can help Curt image the entire disk.
Goochman #11 Posted October 28, 2004 Doh! Curt, could you post a screenshot of the game anyway?
tjlazah #12 Posted October 28, 2004 I tried it on a Mega ST/E and it does not work!
oesii #13 Posted October 29, 2004 I tried it on a Mega ST/E and it does not work! The game as posted is incomplete, we need some more files from Curt's mystery drive
Curt Vendel #14 Posted October 29, 2004 Sorry everyone about that, when I made the zip file I didn't select all of the files, here ya go. Curt foodfiht_fixed.zip

Gregory DG #16 Posted October 30, 2004 Always nice to have a new ST game, especially one I am a connoisseur of. Was this game officially completed? It needs some serious tweaking. Well, maybe a quick fix would have made it better. Because the character can move before the round starts, I can make it more than halfway to the cone before the chefs pop out and start chasing me. I was able to get to round 20 without throwing a single crumb of food. The fix would be to lock the player down until the round starts (or the music stops.) Is the source around too, Curt? Gregory DG #17 Posted October 30, 2004 Oh, and the eating of the cone looks almost pornographic.
tjlazah #18 Posted October 30, 2004 Is this a official Atari game or a remake? Looks suspicious but well done!
Curt Vendel #19 Posted October 30, 2004 Came off of a HD I had gotten 2-3 years ago from a former employee.... there are several other games: Moonbase Star Raider Joust Super Breakout Asteroids Deluxe Tempest Breakout Battlezone Better Dead than Alien Deflector Sorry, only binaries, no sources on the drive.... funny thing is someone marked on it Panther Drive, but I found no panther console files at all, most likely when the Panther died, someone mustve just wiped off what was there and started over. Let me know if you want any of these others posted. CUrt
tjlazah #20 Posted October 30, 2004 Zip them all up and post em! I would love to have them, they are HD installable so that is a plus!
Curt Vendel #21 Posted October 30, 2004 Okey dokey... Here are some of them, I'll work on the rest on Monday, have fun! Curt moonbase.zip bttrdead.zip supbreak.zip joust.zip
