Nice proto/dev auction

Newbie seller gets ultra rare dev kit for an unreleased system nobody knows very much about? Seems a little risky.

Could also be "Long time seller who knows better to put up hardware and/or software protos, creates a new account.". :ponder:

Personally, I'd trust him. I haven't seen those pictures before, and there's not exactly a lot of Panther pictures around to steal.

It is indeed ultra rare, but without the software its pretty useless. Oh, and we don't know if it is complete... they often weren't.

I'd love to buy it, but it has gone too high and $400 is a bit much for a fancy talking-point paperweight!

Granted, the pictures seem genuine -- as you said there aren't exactly a lot of those to go around. I can't even remember if Curt has the case or just the board. (I don't think he's gotten round to putting the Panther section back up) Still, it throws up a few red flags, especially at the price it's risen to.

He's also got an Alpine board up, but those are a lot more common.

I actually 'know' the guy from an 'old computer collectors' maillinglist i subscribe to and i have heard him talk about this before, so i guess it's for real...
