Marco(2) #1 Posted November 14, 2001 Hi all, Today I got two Supervison games from a German Ebay auction. One of the carts had a little rattle inside, so I decided to try my luck and force it open. When I did, the pcb fell out and when I picked it up from the floor I was stunned: I was holding an Atari pcb in my hands! I also opened up the second one: same story, similar Atari pcb inside... Now, what are our options here? Was Atari secretly making pirate carts? Did Supervision somehow get their hands on Atari pcbs? Also note the typical (early production run?) form of the game chip... Weird huh? Marco
Atari-Jess #2 Posted November 14, 2001 id say its odd! perhaps Atari Ssold pcbs perhaps sumguy stole a crate of blank ones but looking at the activision like logo i wouldn't think Atari themselves did it.
Marco(2) #3 Posted November 15, 2001 I've always been puzzled by some of these pirates. A friend of mine has been studying some of the artword on these and found some interesting similarities. It made him think there was some worldwide "conspiracy" of big firms (Atari and Activision) selling their stuff under cheap labels, trying to make some final money out of their games when the crash had already hit the USA but other parts of the world were still interested in (cheap versions of) their games... Cheers, Marco
moycon #4 Posted November 16, 2001 Also the "V" in Supervision is alot like the Activision "V" So if Atari did make em... They were selling pirated copies of their own games and ripping off Activision at the same time!!
