Yie Ar Kung-Fu status and Magical Tree (ColecoVision)

Just to keep all of you updated, Dale is almost finished with the Yie Ar Kung-Fu package, so I believe it is just a matter of 2 or 3 weeks now before it goes to printing. And cartridge content is now defined; it will include both the original MSX version and the new enhanced version of Yie Ar Kung-Fu. The enhanced version has the following differences:

 

- Harder. In addition, difficulty level now increases in a more significant way after defeating all fighters.

- Female fighter Lang got a complete facelift.

- Small improvements in the scenery graphics.

- Many bugs corrected and several graphic touch ups.

 

Overall, the enhanced version looks more like the Famicom version.

 

Ok, now the news: I have got a lot of requests about releasing Magical Tree so I am now considering the possibility. Probably the best option would be to have it released along YAKF, this way one could save on shipping. Label for MT was completed sometime ago, so putting a package together would be fairly simple.

That said, I am starting a reservation list to gauge interest. If I get a minimum number of pre-orders (around 40), then MT can become a reality. Package and price would be as usual, complete with box and manual for just $25 (plus shipping).

About MT, it is a climbing game. Players mission is to help the little Apache indian to reach the Magical Tree top, which is located 2000m (1.2 miles) above the ground. But there are many dangers in your way, like owls, bugs and deadly clouds. Collect hidden diamonds and special items to receive bonus points. What is there in the top? It's up to you to find out.

Magical Tree ROCKS!!! Is this a straight msx port, or has there been any improvements?

I'm happy to see that Magical Tree may see a public release! I had no knowledge of the game before reading about your Colecovision port; I scrounged a copy of the MSX ROM and have since become addicted! Put me down for a copy.
