StanJr #1 Posted November 17, 2001 I just got Riddle of the Sphinx today. I have been intrigued by this game for some time and finally threw down $3 for it. After reading the online manual here, I set off to solve the Riddle. Problem is, who can tell what the all the stuff is. Some things are obvious, the pyramids, the Phoenix, the Sphinx, the shovel, the necklace, the jug. But others are completely ambiguous like the Temple of Isis and the Temple of Anubis, there is some kind of box thingy that looks like a ladder. Does anybody know where I can find a scan of the actual manual or even just a solution site that has pix of the different items and locations? I have an inkling that this game is fun if you know what's what. Part lion-part Stan

Sylentwulf #6 Posted November 18, 2001 No problem I've been meaning to get back into this game, I haven't TOUCHED it in about 18 years.. It's one of only TWO games I remember playing when I was 7 years old (other being pacman, I know, Sorry) I don't wanna put it back in until I'm ready with a couple hours
StanJr #7 Posted November 18, 2001 This game is really cool, and pretty deep for a 2600 game. I beat the first level in about 17 min. My only beef so far is that once you find the Scepter it gets a little too easy and without it, the game is rather hard. But then again, I've only played level 1..... moycon #10 Posted November 18, 2001 I've gotten to the end of the game, The last temple and offered up everything I had. Is that it? Is that the end of the game? Or is there more to it than that? Does the game do something to let you know you've won other than just end?
bcprs1 #11 Posted November 18, 2001 The game ending is very disappointing. As a kid, I never knew if I had won or not. I wish some of these companies could have at least put a Congratulations or something that at least told you the game was done.
Sylentwulf #12 Posted November 19, 2001 not more than a minute with my digital camera. I probably ALMOST have as many manuals as carts, still missing a lot of commons for games too, about 320-380 individual not including label variations. I know that's a broad range, but I haven't entered them all in cart commander yet and I'm not gonna go count em If anyone else is looking for something specific I can probably thro it up real quick
StanJr #13 Posted November 19, 2001 On level 1 all you have to do is reach the Temple of Ra (as far as I know) But on the other levels you have to make specific offerings in order to succeed. When I beat level 1, I think I beat it, there was a tone and the screen turned orange/red. The ending is kind of a let down, but it is still a fun game. I like it. Scott Stilphen #14 Posted November 20, 2001 (got this info from Andy Hilton) Sacred Place ------- Offering -- Secondary Offering* pyraminds ------------ key phoenix -------------- scroll ------ tannis leaf temple of Isis --------- crown ----- jug temple of Anubis ------ ankh ------ shield sphinx ---------------- tablet** temple of Ra ---------- staff * only needed on level 3 ** the computer randomly picks 1 of the 3 stone tablets to be the correct offering. If there is a pattern, I haven't been able to discover it yet. Note: at the beginning of the game, go in reverse until you come to the first oasis. The staff can be found there. Once you have the staff, it will always be the last object to get stolen - if it does, it can be found in the same place.
