kaneda23 #1 Posted November 17, 2004 I have seen a few recommendations on here for TurboBASIC XL as an alternative to the built-in Atari BASIC? Was it release on cart or disk? I would like to use it on my 800XL, but I do have a SIO2PC cable. Can anyone suggest where I could find it? Thank you.
Curt Vendel #2 Posted November 17, 2004 You may want to check the umich.edu ftp servers in the atari directory and see if the images may be up there to d/l and sio2pc over to your atari. Curt

Chrodegang #4 Posted November 17, 2004 Hi, Was it release on cart or disk? TurboBasic XL by Frank Ostrowski was initially released as a type-in (!) in a german computer magazine (Happy Computer). Later you could buy the program on disk from the publisher of that magazine. Many hacks have been made by users: I have a 600XL where TurboBasic XL is built in, for example. A compiler for TurboBasic XL and a version for 400/800 computers is available somewhere as well. Andre Btw., Frank Ostrowski is the author of GfA-Basic for Atari ST also. Avram #5 Posted November 18, 2004 Page 6 magazine in the UK ran a series of tutorials on this language but I don't think the issues they feature in have been uploaded to www.page6.org yet.
prixon #6 Posted November 19, 2004 Gordon Cameron's Turbo Basic tutorial series started in Page 6 issue 36. Unfortunately it will be some time before that's online - I'm currently working on issue 25 with a site update planned before Christmas.
