lbaeza #1 Posted November 18, 2004 Hi I am reading august 1983's edition of Antic magazine and I found a couple of ads for Synapse software, one ad for Dimension X and other for Blue Max. Both ads feature a robot, a mouse and a cat. I remember seeing those creatures in other Synapse ads. What's the story behind these creatures? Were some kind of mascots or characters from other Synapse game? Regards
andylama #2 Posted November 21, 2004 If I recall correctly, Synapse regularly used the talents of an illustrator named Tim Boxell. I don't know anything about the man, however. I got the impression that those characters were just sort of company advertising mascots, not associated with any particular game.
lbaeza #3 Posted November 22, 2004 Yeah, you're right, Tim Boxell is the man behind those great illustrations. Although the robot, mouse and cat look like had nothing to do with a particular game. Regards If I recall correctly, Synapse regularly used the talents of an illustrator named Tim Boxell.

Max_Chatsworth #5 Posted January 31 NECRO ALERT: I spoke to Bob Polin about this, but he had no knowledge or involvement whatsoever about how the art was created for Blue Max. 1

I always just sort of assumed they wanted to avoid directly showing humans getting killed via war etc or something like that. Like "hey..it's just whimsical cats!". You know marketing people..."hey guys..there might be an issue..."
