atarigamer
First off let me say I am sorry for posting a 5200/7800 related topic here, but If I post it in the 5200 or 7800 board the results will be extremely in favor of that system. So let me ask the question. Which system do you like the best, the 5200 or the 7800? (and if you want give a reason why).
Lemmi
7800 , Cause it plays 2600 and the better quality 7800 games, also the controllers Rule compaired to the 5200, and the 5200 is just way to big for the small amount of space in my game room
Genki
Looks like this is still the wrong forum to ask this kind of question. People would favor the 7800 because it can use 2600. But if you must ask me, I prefer the 5200 because there's a lot of games i have that are worthwhile (if I can get the @#@$% joystick to work)
King Atari
quote the thing is a freakin' boat LOL, one of the best ways to describe a 5200. If I had to choose, it'd be a 7800, because its pretty easy to collect for (off of ebay, my thrift shops only have 2600 games).
Ze_ro
Personally, I'd have to say the 5200. I'm not sure why though, since it's controllers suck, it's not as powerful as the 7800, and the thing is a freakin' boat. But for some reason, I just can't stay mad at it --Zero
Scott Stilphen
They both play 2600 games
woodyi76
I don't have an atari 7800 but according to the video game cridict and allgame.com atari 5200 is alot better. 27 of the 41 atari 5200games reviewed by the videogamecridict were B- or better. While only 13 of the 37 atari 7800 games were B- or better. That is why I bought a 5200 recently and didn't buy a 7800. I could care less if the 7800 games can play my 2600 games it means nothing to me.

+Cafeman
5200. Lots of sentimental value with it, and I still play it. Nothing compares to Star Raiders, Berzerk, Rescue From Fractalus, River Raid, Centipede, Missile Command (with the trak-ball of course) and many other games on the good old 5200. You forgot another worthy game: the only other game to use 2 controlers for one player. The one and only Space Dungeon!
CosmicJoke
Well, I have a love/hate relationship with the 5200 and right now I'm at the hate stage So, I would say the 7800
san-d-2000
The 5200 never got released in Europe, so it has no sentimental values, and the 7800 sucks major, so I guess I go for the 2600
