treetsux #1 Posted December 1, 2004 1. SNES-powers up, but just get a black screen like you would get without a game in it. im using a brand new power supply. is the rf modulator bad, does it just need a good cleaning (whats best for snes?), or is it possibly something more? 2. NES works great...when I can get the tray to stay down. Do I have something too tight or too lose? It works 1st time everytime when it stays down. shoving the player 2 controller in the slot to hold the game down works too, but I dont want to have to do that. THANKS FOR ANY and ALL advice! andy
sega saturn x #2 Posted December 1, 2004 I cant help you with the snes but you could always try and wheigh down the nes cart. Likle with say a paper back book? Who knows it might work.
atari2600foreever #3 Posted December 1, 2004 Have you tried playing the game without pushing the tray down at all?? One nintendo I used to have would play games like that.
chrisbid #4 Posted December 2, 2004 i know that if the 72 pin connector has been replaced on the NES, if you screw down the cart slot too tightly, then the cart will not remain depressed. open up your system, and loosen up the front end of the cart slot just a little and see if that helps any
Jess Ragan #5 Posted December 2, 2004 Here's what I do with my own NES. Put in a cartridge, push it down, then insert another one on top of it, just above the metal bar that holds the first one in place. It's a perfect fit, so the first cartridge stays anchored in place. Just don't push the second cartridge in all the way... if you do, it's a bitch to get it back out. JR
A2600 #6 Posted December 3, 2004 Do this... For the SNES give it a good cleaning!! Everything is fine if you are getting a black screen!! and For the NES its the oldest trick in my book!!! HOLD THE CART DOWN, AND INSERT ANOTHER NES CART IN THE OPEN SPACE AND JUST CLOSE YOUR LID AND PLAY!!

Stingray #8 Posted December 3, 2004 I agree about the SNES, it probably just needs to have the cart slot cleaned. Clean your games too while you're at it. -S
