l3ushwig #3 Posted December 7, 2004 Can anyone post a picture of one with the disc in the top... i have never seen one.
shadowdoggie #4 Posted December 7, 2004 Tommy... how did you come up with a 'yes' based on this pic? I would have to see the other side of the joystick, which is obstructed in this picture, to determine it the work TOP is written on the top of the stick. That is the visual clue that I look for. If the work TOP isn't there, it's more than likely a heavy sixer joystick. IMPORTANT - I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm just curious as to what other visual clues there are that help destinguish the Heavy Sixer joystick from the later CX-40 sticks. Thanks! shadowdoggie #6 Posted December 7, 2004 I should have said are there any visual clues besides the word "TOP" and the ATARI disc.

No prob...Just look at the very top of the joystick handle. You can see the groove where the disc sat at one time, very clearly. That is why I say it is in nice condition, although the disc is gone...that rubber isn't worn that much at all. Cheers...

adams_ale #9 Posted December 7, 2004 are the original joystick the one's that have a spring inside? Does it work better than the newer joysticks?
charitycasegreg #10 Posted December 7, 2004 One of my friends have those joysticks. Maybe his system is a heavy sixer? Ill check it out sometime.
Mindfield #11 Posted December 7, 2004 are the original joystick the one's that have a spring inside? Does it work better than the newer joysticks? They all have springs; Sunnyvales have bigger ones, though, and there's much more give to the button than later models. They actually feel nicer to me.
