sway3
Combat River Raid Defender Centipede Millipede Breakout & Super Breakout Missle Command Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Jr Ms Pac Man Pac Man Jr Mario Bros Frogger Frogger 2 Midnight Magic Pitfall Pitfall 2 Star Wars Empire BMX Air Master These are all the carts in my personal collection. They are the only games I like to play on the 2600. Please don't think I only pick the common games that I can find... if you check my eBay auctions here you'll see that I have many rare games. I also have over 1000 common carts, but I hope to liquidate them all before 12/15.

Genki
Solaris would have to be up there. I also liked Adventure, Dark Chambers, Yars Revenge, Pitfall 2, and Ram It.
Mister VCS
My top-ten 10. Midnight Magic (very realistic- for the 2600 of course) 9. Zaxxon (not the Arcade-game, but challenging and "feels like Zaxxon") 8. Smurf ( better than the Colecovision-game) 7. Enduro ( super driving game for the 2600, fast and colorful) 6. Fatal Run (good graphik, and complex) 5. Star Wars: The Arcade Game (fast and arcade feeling) 4. Stargate (a debugged Defender) 3. Pitfall II (complex and good graphik) 2. Crystal Castles ( complex and good graphik) 1. Solaris ( the masterpiece for the 2600) not in the list, but very good: Mario Bros., Mr. Do!, Ghostbusters I and II, Road Runner, Missile Command, Defender, Decathlon Space Shuttle, Circus Atari, Xenophobe, Joust, Moon Patrol, Jungle Hunt., F 14 Fighter, Popeye, Q-bert, Double Dragon, Space Invaders, Pole Position. Flop ten 10. Swordquest-series (boring) 9. Donkey Kong (feel unfinished) 8. Reactor (what is going on?) 7. Dark Chambers (very boooring) 6. Mouse Trap ( it hurts my eyes) 5. Aliens Return (boring) 4. Star Wars: Jedi Arena (boring, no fun) 3. Star Wars: The Empire strikes back (boring) 2. Night Driver ( no challenge, but it was made in 1978) 1. Space War ( is this a game?) not in the list, but very bad: Battlezone, Frogger (Parker), Demon Attack, Demons to Diamonds, Congo Bongo, Air-Sea-Battle. Mister VCS
I was searching for "Demons to Diamonds" and found this old thread... Any love for this "forgotten" paddle-game"?
AtariLeaf
Holy crap. Is this the record for bumping an old thread? Over 8 years.
VectorGamer
Holy crap. Is this the record for bumping an old thread? Over 8 years. You'd have to go to the Publications forum to see if I bumped any that were older...
VectorGamer
8. Reactor (what is going on?) 6. Mouse Trap ( it hurts my eyes) Reactor is a very good game. What makes you not like it? Mouse Trap just doesn't cut it on the 2600. Many times I wanted to open/close doors and I turned into a dog instead. Once you fire it up on the ColecoVision there is just no going back to the 2600 version. Mouse Trap may work well on the 5200, however. 7800Lover
That's an incredibly subjective question. But... 1. Pitfall II 2. Pitfall! 3. Combat 4. Asteroids 5. Missile Command 6. Space Invaders 7. Jr. Pacman 8. Breakout 9. Circus Atari 10. Fishing Derby
pinball22
I've always liked Demons to Diamonds... yes, it's strange, and occasionally a little unfair, but fun and fast-paced.
atari_envy
Holy crap. Is this the record for bumping an old thread? Over 8 years. I don't have a problem with bumping old threads. After all, think of all the people who have joined the site in the past 8 years, and we are discussing a system that is over 30 years old. However, instead of new thread I would like to see these posts added to the pinned topic of the top 100 Atari games. Vote for your favorite 10 games, and the results are tallied into a top 100 list. Comments are welcome Space War is a very nice game despite its essential graphics. Sadly there's no player vs. cpu variation. Battlezone is not too bad too. In the good games list I'll put Frostbite, Solar Fox, Demon Attack and H.E.R.O. instead of Zaxxon, Smurf, Fatal Run and Star Wars.

Galactus
Solaris would have to be up there. I also liked Adventure, Dark Chambers, Yars Revenge, Pitfall 2, and Ram It. I just picked up a copy of Ram It yesterday and it looks pretty interesting. I think I'll like that one as well. Monty's Revenge would have to be in there for me. govegan
I was definitely a bit of an Activision whore. Their games take up a few slots on my list: Enduro Pressure Cooker Frostbite Missile Command Demon Attack Adventure Super Breakout Kaboom River Raid Riddle of the Sphinx It's hard to keep it at ten - I know I'm leaving off a ton of my favorites. govegan
I just realized after seeing the quote in your post how silly it looks that someone with "vegan" in their name enjoys bouncing lettuce off their stomach and preparing an endless stream of hamburgers for people. And yeah, it was definitely a good-looking game. The only part I'd change if it were up to me is the "dropping the burger in the colored slot" portion of the game, but I love the rest.
