Duranik
We have started a little Alpine Games "contest". You can win a very rare lynx cartridge. Take a look at www.duranik.com to find out more. Johannes / Duranik
SwedenLynxer
Wow! Me wants one of those! There is just ONE new high score the last 4 months. But this should make people start sending in their scores!
+davidcalgary29
Oh, boy! I spent a month practising on Freestyle Aerials, and managed to hit 45.0. You can be sure that I'm going to send in a score now.
seamoon
Coolness! I assume already submitted scores will participate in contest?
Duranik
Yes, all scores displayed on the homepage have a chance to win, it doesn´t matter how old they are.
oesii
I got my Biathlon score down into the low 26's so I'll have to submit a score soon. I need to get the hang of the other events soon, but one at a time
Mr Egg
it looks too cool to be true . is the lynx really capable of those graphics? it looks like something that would run on a GBA rather than a Lynx . if its real i have to say WOW what an achievement
chris_lynx1989
why don't you folks at duranik just make more carts like these for all the lynxers out there?only making three of these is going to promote some sort of piracy for people wanting this version of alpine games for their lynxes or emulators out there.just a thought duranik. i WOULD by another version of alpine games for myself if you folks truly did release it.would anyone else out there buy another version too?three games just seems like too much of a micro-release to do any lynxers out there any good at all.this is too much like a prototype release or two from the past i've heard about.why only make 3 copies for a contest?i think,an alpine games 1 1/2 version would sell too! come on,duranik.--the lynxer

I totally agree. The Lynx has too few releases as is!!! So when new stuff comes out, it's not going to be a major pain for collectors and Lynx fans to fork out the money, and they are willing to. I'm already awaiting TailChao's Zonik. The competition is good fun, but it only really benefits eBay, and not Lynx fans. Just my $0.02 worth. SwedenLynxer
I disagree. Duranik has already given us a fantastic game: Alpine Games! This is just a bonus, a nice gesture to all devoted players and fans who have send in their high (or low ) scores. Ok, yes I would also be happy if there was some more copys of this cartridge you could win. But remember Duranik is giving them away for FREE. They are not releasing this as some sort of sequel to Alpine Games. Not another "proto" or "unreleased game" on the market. Duranik is not trying to make money by releasing a unfinished game. I respect that. I hope more people get out and buy themselves a copy of Alpine Games. Lynxers...let us go out and buy ALL games Duranik have in stock! Maybe this will motivate Duranik and make them consider making a NEW Lynx game. Those "Lynx Knights" screen shots looked very nice. The Lynx needs more games. REAL games. tdp
SwedenLynxer, Maybe you have got a point. I just having a bit of a fan-boy moment!!! Wish I was smart enough to code for the Lynx. BTW, if anyone knows, the 3d effect on the snowboard section - is than an animated backgorund - or is that real-time 3D? I know the flags are scaled sprites. Rocko
I have been meaning to get this game since it was first mentioned (LOVE cali games on the lynx, one of my Favorite Classic games of all time) Hopefully I can scrounge up more money for it (And other things that could be pending on my plate right now, although I am not sure yet.) I think this game looks awesome! They should release A jaguar version of it (On cart form, I got the Jag around the same time I got my lynx and 7800, but cant afford the CD addon...) Isgoed
If Duranik is going to make another Lynxgame, then I suppose we have to wait? At the moment they have a Dreamcast? in the fisbowl, so they are probably working on a game for that system?
Nubian
Hey All, I think the Duranik competition is a great idea! There are very few videogame compeitions, allready let alone fo the Lynx, so this compeition is really fun. Regards, Daniel Foot.

chris_lynx1989
i still stand by my original statement about making too few of these for only three supposed "winners" of a competition.why only make 3 copies available for a contest?i still say this will be copied by a pirate and/or the rom will be on a rom site somewhere out there.some one person or a sm- all group will be offering these up on eproms and copied boards like the original three carts will look.no lynx game seems to avoid the rom site for a "free" download to your handy unit for emulation.look at the game othe- llo,it had anti-piracy code embedded in it AND it still ended up on at least one european rom site to be downloaded with abandon! this was ripping off harry and lance both! they were both very peed off when this was first discovered a couple off years ago by a friend of theirs. i don't know if this is still going on now on the rom sites. i don't really support the piracy folks and the machine they all are driving myself.we'll see how this works for duranik and songbird and the like out there.i STILL say that duranik is just going to open up a really big can of worms here.i wish them well.just my .02 cents worth from my experience on the web we all surf on.--the lynxer

Duranik
the cartridge is not a complete game, nothing we want people to spend 20 or 30 bucks, just stuff that is lurking around on our hard drives. Perhaps you overestimate the lynx market, apart from the roms for the emulators, i guess there is no piracy at all. Most likely it would be much more expensive to build a cartridge like alpine games instead of just buying it. I have never seen any of the new releases like Sokomania or Championship Rally on any romsites.
Shaggy the Atarian
I'm excited to see this competition. Thanks for making it available Duranik.

I have never seen any of the new releases like Sokomania or Championship Rally on any romsites. But I guess this is also because nobody complains if the old games show up there. But if the new games would show up, the authors would complain.
Godzilla
well i for one would love to buy something unique like this if a normal edition was sold later after the 3 winners got their special editions. Heck I bought that other lynx demo cart that has a few little simple games on it (reloaded I think?) :-)
K3V
I see there is a Dreamcast in the "fishbowl" on the Duranik site - does this mean there's a DC project in the works from Duranik?
tdp
I have completed the game a few times now, and my scores are lower than a bow-legged centipede. Do I just email them my score or does the game give me some code that I need to email to enter the competition? Or maybe my scores are so bad that it's unable to provide me with a code. Thanx. Yes, the game will give you a code when you set a new world record. Sending this code to Duranik will place you on the high score list. Your record/code will be saved on your game as well. I guess you can complete the game even if you get zero score and get disqualified in all of the individual games. You have to break one of the World records! Im sure you can do it! I think the level of the existing records (the ones you have to break) is fair. Except for Bobsleigh maybe. I have big problem with this event
SwedenLynxer
The game will let you know when you set a new record. You can't miss it
