ATARIeric #11 Posted December 26, 2004 I got my just-turned-four-year-old an SP for Christmas (from my parents). He absolutely loves it, and I'm very impressed with it. WOW! hes got a great dad and awesome grandparents when i was 4, i got army men, SST racers that would rip the skin off my arms or get stuck in he hair on my head and a bigwheel that would launch me out it when i put the hand brake down. LOL hes lucky!
PaulEMoz #12 Posted December 26, 2004 Well, thanks for the compliments. He loves games, but controllers are a bit big for his hands, so most of his gaming so far has been with emulators, using the PC keyboard as a controller. This seemed like a logical step, and to see his little face light up when he saw Super Mario 3 made it more than worthwhile.. Plus, we're moving back to England next year and that will be perfect for keeping him entertained on the plane. We got him some GBA cartoon videos too. thegamezmaster #16 Posted January 2, 2005 All the mario games are good. So are the Castlevania games.
liveinabin #17 Posted January 3, 2005 Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is a wonderful game, loads of depth but also good for a 5 minute pick-up-and-play.
kencrisis #18 Posted January 3, 2005 I'm looking for suggestions too. I've barely played my GBA SP since I got a 2600 this summer and want to get back into it. Here's what I like, can you make a suggestion? I'm a big FPS fan and, although it was hated by just about everyone, the game I play more than any other is Star Wars: Flight of the Falcon. I like to shoot things, I don't care about storyline (Wing Commander: Prophecy tested the limits of my patience with all its dialogue screens), I hate cutesy stuff, and I have an unexplainable aversion to anything Mario. Although it's not a FPS, I'm looking at Payback, which isn't out yet. Also, can anyone recommend any GBA review Web sites? The only one I know of is http://www.gameratio.com. A2600 #19 Posted January 3, 2005 well I rely heavily on www.gamespot.com for all my gaming reviews and suggestions
Invader_dag #20 Posted January 3, 2005 both of the Metroid titles are excellent, and as thegamezmaster said, all three Castlevania games are very good too. If you've never played Zelda: Link to the Past, pick up the port, or even if you just aren`t sick of it yet. And check out Zelda: The Minish Cap which is coming out next monday. The Megaman Zero series is great, and a pretty good challenge, some say it is insanely hard but i've never had a problem with it. Metal Slug Advance is a fun game too, but very hard to start off in. even if you have an aversion to Mario, try Yoshi's Island or Warioland 4. both are great games and aren't tied to the Mario formula really. The Sonic Adavance series is also good, but Sonic Adavance 2 has some insane requirements if you want to unlock everything.

Thanks for the tid bit Fami, I also thought about that but I wanted something smaller like the SP!! i too like the size of the SP compared to the DS.m SP fits in the pocket dont get me wrong, id like to own a DS just to own one,but i think i will buy a fagbag for a P2P system first
Jacob Rose #25 Posted January 4, 2005 I am aghast! Has no one recommended Activision Anthology?! It owes much to many fine people here at AtariAge, I understand. I bought my SP specifically to have portable 2600 action. =) I also carry Metroid: Zero Mission with me, but I'm stuck right now on that one so I'm learning the finer points of Kabbober... It's too bad there's no "Atari Anthology" for GBA, too, but there are tons of good Activision games for the 2600, and the GBA Activision Anthology cartridge also includes several homebrews, including Skeleton+, Okie*Dokie, and Oystron.
