ulij20 #1 Posted December 20, 2004 Has anyone noticed that, on some of the waves, the sound effects of the demons when they're shot seem to resemble words? For instance, on Wave 2, it sounds like they're saying, "Chug-a-lug" Wave 6, it sounds like they're saying, "Eagle-bird". Wave 8, sounds like they're saying, "Suck-a-log" Wave 9, "Gray-bubble" Wave 10, "Olga-ga" As I recall, the other levels sound like regular sound effects. I was wondering if anyone here has ever noticed this novelty?

Blackjack #6 Posted December 21, 2004 Sorry man, I just played it and listened very carefully (felt a little foolish), and it's time for you to unplug for a while. Get away from your computer for a while.
Mindfield #7 Posted December 21, 2004 Pac Man speaks to me. It has a limited vocabulary, but it's quite apt: Starting the game: "Doo-doo, doo-doo!" Eating dots (wafers?): "Bunk, bunk, bunk, bunk, bunk-bunk, bunk..." After eating a power pill (cracker?): "[bEEP!] Spew, spew, spew, spew, spew, spew..." Eating a ghost: "Upchuck!" CPUWIZ #9 Posted December 21, 2004 That sure looks like 2 pancakes to me.
tiggerthehun #10 Posted December 21, 2004 The Pancake is in mid-mitosis, so it's not quite two pancakes, but, assuredly, it DID turn into a plural pile mere seconds after the photo was snapped.
Goochman #11 Posted December 21, 2004 I hear 2600 Pac Man saying to me: "I sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka" - and the death sound '$50 down the dra dra dra draaaaainnnnnnnn' My Jaquar seems to has a hiss coming out of it that sounds like: "ssssiiiiiiiiiiisssssssssssssssukaaaaaaaaaaaa"

Lost Monkey: Demon Attack. What is in Room 237? Demon Attack: Nothin'! There ain't nothin' in Room 237. But you ain't got no business goin' in there anyway. So stay out! You understand? Stay out! ulij20 #14 Posted December 21, 2004 Boy what'cho smokin' ??? Antarctican pot. Want some? Do any other Atari games talk to you?? I have played alot of Demon Attack, but I have'nt heard anything sounding like "Suck-a-log". Actually, it's "Suck-a-lug". I inadvertently typed "o" instead of "u". Has anyone noticed that, on some of the waves, the sound effects of the demons when they're shot seem to resemble words? For instance, on Wave 2, it sounds like they're saying, "Chug-a-lug" Wave 6, it sounds like they're saying, "Eagle-bird". I was wondering if anyone here has ever noticed this novelty? I think wave 16 says "Smoke-a-fattie". Actually, wave 16 says, "Roll". I'd forgotten about that one. "Suck-a-log" Nice ceiling tiles, huh? Sorry man, I just played it and listened very carefully (felt a little foolish), and it's time for you to unplug for a while. Get away from your computer for a while. Actually, I'm not playing it on my computer. I'm relying solely on memory here (that's why I said 'as I recall' at the end of my first post) Pac Man speaks to me. It has a limited vocabulary, but it's quite apt: Starting the game: "Doo-doo, doo-doo!" Eating dots (wafers?): "Bunk, bunk, bunk, bunk, bunk-bunk, bunk..." After eating a power pill (cracker?): "[bEEP!] Spew, spew, spew, spew, spew, spew..." Eating a ghost: "Upchuck!" Atari Pac-Man - the most disappointing game in the Atari series. It was completely different than the arcade game. To me, eating the wafers sounded like the electronic equivalent of rubber bands snapping. I hear 2600 Pac Man saying to me: "I sucka sucka sucka sucka sucka" - and the death sound '$50 down the dra dra dra draaaaainnnnnnnn' My Jaquar seems to has a hiss coming out of it that sounds like: "ssssiiiiiiiiiiisssssssssssssssukaaaaaaaaaaaa" Who in the blue hell would spend $50 on Pac Man? (I guess it depends on over how long a period of time) Sometimes games tell me HELTER SKELTER and KILL THE PIGGIES. Kill the piggies? Why, what did they ever do to you? Lost Monkey: What about Room 237? Demon Attack: Room 237? Lost Monkey: You're scared of Room 237, ain't ya? Demon Attack: No I ain't. Lost Monkey: Demon Attack. What is in Room 237? Demon Attack: Nothin'! There ain't nothin' in Room 237. But you ain't got no business goin' in there anyway. So stay out! You understand? Stay out! Uhh, umm, well... iguana #17 Posted December 22, 2004 I think many games "talk" to me. but that usually stops after I pug them in and turn it on. MattG/Snyper2099 #23 Posted December 22, 2004 My Atari and games talk to me ll the time. It always says stuff like, "Better check your blood sugar because I shouldn't be able to talk to you."

ulij20 #25 Posted December 22, 2004 What is the definition of Olga-ga? Phil A combination of a feminine name and baby talk. My Atari and games talk to me ll the time. It always says stuff like, "Better check your blood sugar because I shouldn't be able to talk to you." Really? What videogame says that? I'd love to check it out. I'm guessing that it's perhaps Space Invaders, since, with all the Atari games that I have, I never got Space Invaders. Eating a ghost: "Upchuck!" Hmmmm I've always thought it was more like.... "Buck you" Listen closely. Sounded more like "Boink-oink" to me. This was back when I was ten, BTW, back in the early 1980s when video game fever was about at its peak. (There was even a song called "Pac Man Fever" on the charts)
