Definitely a good deal. I once traded a sealed Sound 1 canadian version for a loose Malagai and Texas Chainsaw.

Well it's sought after, I still need it to complete Coleco. But I don't know if it's worth that much to me right now, with the torn corner.

 

In fact it looks like the unit that CX2K was describing here a little while back with the tear & Hardie was throwing in a sealed Berenstain with it. $250 shipped for a non-mint SSTD & Kidvid just isn't so tempting to me right now.

 

But someone bought now so it's a non issue.

 

 

I'm still curious what's a sealed one worth? When's the last one that came up?

Digital Press rates the Kid Vid as a rarity 10. I suppose the Kid Vid is in high demand to sell that quick, but I can't see myself paying that much for it. Not that I have that much disposable income in the first place. The Kid Vid games on the other hand never seem to go very high on ebay. Probably due to the fact that you need the Kid Vid to play them(duh).

Finding the Smurf cart loose is common. Even sometimes with the tapes shows up. But getting this piece complete with the original box is not an easy thing. I'd like to know how many collectors here still need to get one. Usually this shows up with the box complete vs without the box complete, just because people wanted to keep the tape recorder in good condition. That and it was easier to store everything with the box.

He basically has a $40-50 cart & a tape deck. Throw in some Creedence Clearwater Revival and make it an even $100

Considering I've won 3 SSTDs all under $30 over the last few months, I'd say the price of the cart is at a bit of a low point.

 

'Course, without the tapes it's basically unplayable. With a set of (real) tapes I can see it hitting $100 or more.

 

Tapes can be easily made from the MP3s available here and elsewhere. Of course if you're going to go that far, you might as well use the custom cable and a CD player instead.
