Ripped Off on Shipping

Before I go into this rant, please keep in mind that I had a hunch this was going to happen to me anyway. This is merely a post to inform some of you that this guy is going to lie to you.

 

So I win six auctions from Ebay ID: gameliquidation, each one fairly inexpensive (two for a penny each, actually). My total bid for the six auctions was $24.90. Shipping was $35.90.

 

Now, he clearly says in his auctions that "IM VERY SORRY BUT GAMELIQUIDATION IS NOT ABLE TO OFFER COMBINED SHIPPING RATES FOR MULTIPLE PURCHASES DUE TO THE SIZE, WEIGHT & COST OF MOST OF OUR AUCTIONS". Eliminate size and weight from that and you get the true statement. I figured for that rate I'd be getting six different packages each shipped Fed Ex 2nd Day. Instead, of course, I get everything in one small box, shipped Fed Ex Ground. Actual shipping cost between $6-$7.

 

Entirely my fault, I know... just wanted to let others know.

Those guys make all their money on the shipping so they don't have to pay paypal fees. The fact that they don't combine shipping is the main reason I don't bother with their auctions unless I see something I really want and the total price is worth it.

 

There are at least 6 other large scale penny game sellers on Ebay I know of who do the same thing.

dvdguy ..... this is a touchy topic.

 

I know it kinda sucks to pay so much, but I feel like (unless I missed something) the guy was completely up front about all of the costs. I think as long as the seller tells you up front how much everything is going to cost, there is no room for complaint.

 

You are correct that he candy coats the reason for not combining shipping a bit, but let's face it, if you're selling carts for 99 cents (let alone a penny) and not padding the shipping, you're losing a lot of money.

 

I am glad to see that you did expect it and aren't going to neg the guy or anything, that say's something for your character. I hate to see people win an auction with all shipping costs stated and then get mad and leave negs over the costs they agreed to.

 

Regardless, I do hope you got some good games out of the deal. In no way am I trying to provoke an argument here or anything, I just wanted to express my opinion on the subject.

You pay paypal fees on the total recieved not just the non shipping amount, however they are avoiding Ebay fees. You only pay fees on ebay based on the auction amount.
