Famicoman #26 Posted January 13, 2005 Shouldn't the controller work with other games. even though they might not have the same, or all controlls. (I think I used too many Ls)
J.Max #27 Posted January 14, 2005 Of course, for the ultimate, you'd have to get one of those geared dials like they actually used in the Arkanoid machines. That's pretty much what the Tornado spinner is!
JB #28 Posted January 14, 2005 Of course, for the ultimate, you'd have to get one of those geared dials like they actually used in the Arkanoid machines. That's pretty much what the Tornado spinner is! No, the Tornado is a free-spinning spinner, as are all of the spinners currently available that I know of. Arkanoid uses a geared one for greater precision. http://www.arcadeshop.com/pics/arkanoid-controller.jpg The geared rotation makes for a faster-turning wheel, so one turn of the wheel gets you across the screen. And resists motion more so you don't jiggle as easily. And when you let go, it stops instead of spinning, so spinner's pr'ly not an appropriate term. (I think I used too many Ls)The NES/FC Arkanoid knob doesn't simulate a digital pad. It actually passes analog data. May as well expect a Zapper to work with other games. MattG/Snyper2099 #30 Posted January 18, 2005 No. The controller was only used with Arkanoid game. No other game ever supported the controller. Not true. The PAL NES game crack out is compatable with it. I know cause I tried it. BTW, crackout is an arkanoid rip-off but, it is pretty fun in it's own right. Yeah I've personaly never seen one up close. If I ever got Arkanoid for NES I'd certainly have to track one down. Oh well... I once passed up an opertunty to get an SNES, an NES, and over 30 games for each at a total of $50 when I was in Junior High. Stupid Me.
