eric_ruck #1 Posted December 26, 2004 Goofing around online and found that the domain www.atarilabs.com is now available. Since I can't even pretend I have enough time to make a fansite, well, here it is. Do we know the former owner of this domain? Appears to be Japanese or somthing. dvdguy #2 Posted December 30, 2004 If a few of us got off our asses and formed that homebrew company we all dream about, that would be a good domain to have. Too bad Atari would shut it down.
eric_ruck #3 Posted December 30, 2004 Too bad Atari would shut it down. Would they? The new Atari seems to be pretty generous with the community. Now the getting of our asses part...I wish. When my ass isn't firmly planted in front of a work computer (like, um, now) it's up chasing around my children. Eric
oleanhosting #4 Posted December 30, 2004 I tell you what..If someone buys the domain I would host it for them
+-^CrossBow^- #5 Posted December 31, 2004 Hmm..are you sure it is avail? Everything I try to go to AtariLabs.com I get redirected to a different site here: http://nfg.2y.net/ And they appear to be related to games in some way. So it might have been only temporarily avail but seems to have been snagged up now.

eric_ruck #8 Posted December 31, 2004 Or not a glitch, the owner may have just renewed yesterday. Oh well, not like any of us was going to take it anyway. I just thought it was interesting. Eric
Trip_Cannon #9 Posted January 2, 2005 What about the website www.atarian.com -- that one has been the same page for years now! Does anybody have any info on that one?

Trip_Cannon #11 Posted January 2, 2005 I've been curious to see if that page would ever turn into something... it's been the same since 2001...
NFG #12 Posted January 3, 2005 Atarilabs.com has been under my control for a very long time. It's been lying fallow for a year or more, so when it expired I wasn't going to renew it. Then I thought of some filthy spammer's LiveGirlsCasinoSearchWholesalePS2sNowNowNow site taking its place, and I decided to renew it after all. It now redirects to nfg.2y.net 'cause that's where I focus most of the stuff that would have gone to Atarilabs.
CPUWIZ #13 Posted January 3, 2005 I thought of some filthy spammer's LiveGirlsCasinoSearchWholesalePS2sNowNowNow site taking its place, and I decided to renew it after all. That's too bad, I tried to register it 10 seconds after I saw the original post.
NFG #14 Posted January 3, 2005 That's too bad, I tried to register it 10 seconds after I saw the original post. Are you the filthy spammer to whom I refer? It was never available to anyone but me, Network Solutions had it in a limbo state until my grace period expired. At best you could have been on a waiting list. Or, no doubt, offer the bastards at NetSol a few dollars and they'd accidently shorten the grace period. Besides, you'd have squandered it on a site with no Mutrons. No, I hate those sites you refer to. I noticed the grace period and realized that the best I could do is back-order it, which I didn't. And yes, no Mutrons. NFG #16 Posted January 3, 2005 I had such grand dreams for AtariLabs originally. I was never able to make the site even come close to the vague visions of intense experimentation I imagined a golden age Atari-backed research lab to produce. That's why I let it go fallow; I wasn't living up to the name. It's been a bit of a bitter failure for me, despite the mostly positive feedback it generated. What was there has been preserved, all pages besides the main index should now be resolving fine, maintaining old links and google searches and things. Some of the content didn't suck, but I think the NFG Games stuff is, if not better suited, better quality.
