82-T/A #1 Posted December 29, 2004 Hey guys, I was looking on the Jaguar Rarity List, trying to determine what I have, and what I don't have. I was really big into the Jaguar about 2-3 years ago. I had basically collected everything I could find up to Skyhammer (but didn't manage to get my hands on Air Cars, or Battlemorph). In any case, I noticed that you list two versions of CyberMorph. One is listed as "1 meg" and the other is listed as "2 meg". I also took note of the serial number on the bottom of the cartridges. I basically keep most of my Atari Jaguar games accessible, along with a Jaguar and I play them from time to time, but I currently only have 1 in my box. However, I DO know that I have 3 different versions of CyberMorph. I actually have two questions: 1) is there a difference at all between the 1 meg and 2 meg versions? They both play identical to me.. but then again, I never passed the first level.. heh. 2) I know for a fact that I have three different versions. I have the one with the serial number "700700-3" and "700700-2". But I also seem to remember having one that just said "700700". It could have said "700700-1" but I don't remember. Now with this in mind, has anyone else heard of this? Or do I have a potential rare cartridge? I seem to remember that the label was also in black & white. I bought one in a box in eBay, and the other ones I probably got either with the system, or from a video game trading place. Before you call BS, lemme show you this picture (it's in webshots so you actually have to click the link) http://community.webshots.com/photo/387437...239146919lxIdRc This is why I don't REALLY want to get it out right now to verify. But I guess I was hoping that, if someone has heard of this, there would be a quick answer... or if this is something that no one has ever heard of, then maybe I do have something really rare and I would then make the effort of pulling everything out of the closet to get it. I'm a huge nerd, and I absolutely love Atari. Seriously... when I go looking around on this site, I get goose bumps all over. Kinda like the feeling you get when you see a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge with the RAM-AIR/4 package doing a nice steak & potatoes burnout on the pavement. Thanks! Isgoed #2 Posted December 29, 2004 Hi, I have 2 Cybermorphs, labeled 700700-3 and 700700 and I always thought that the 700700 type was 2 meg, but I can't see no difference in the game This Cybermorph thing was mentioned in another thread some time ago... Flojomojo #3 Posted December 29, 2004 I think the 2mb version talks a bit more, and has music in the menu screen. Haven't played Cybermorph in a very long time ... it's quite possible I will never play it again!
Gunstar #4 Posted December 29, 2004 I'm pretty sure that the 2meg version only came in a black case and the 1meg was gray. Other than that the easiest way to tell the difference right off the bat is the 2meg version has an animated title screen, the 1meg version does not. IIRC the 1meg version is missing a lot of Skylar's speech too. I'm not sure if there are any other differences. But if you have one that has a Black&White label, that's new to me, it's either super-rare, or someone made a B&W label for it with a copier, in which case it's less than worthless. but there is also a mini-cybermorph on the 'test' cartridges that B&C sold at one time, they may still have some in stock. I've heard there was another version too, but I forget where.
BuzzTron451 #5 Posted December 30, 2004 I know nothing of the game, other than you fly around like Starfox or Panzer Dragoon, only it's where you can fly around in a 360-degree environment. It is a good concept, but it is very flawed and glitchy... Anyways, enough of comparing game-to-game. I assume that the 2-meg cart will hold more data, which could be anything from music, voices, larger worlds, etc. So overall, the 2-meg cart holds more data than the 1-meg cart. I'd try to find the 2-meg cart; I always want the best deal...
Gunstar #6 Posted December 30, 2004 You know nothing of the game, yet you call it flawed and glitchy. How would you know?!? MORON
Gunstar #7 Posted December 30, 2004 by the way, it's nothing like StarFox or Panzer Dragoon at all. Except that it's polygon graphics and you shoot stuff. So are 80% of ALL video games...
krazy_kamino #8 Posted December 30, 2004 i used atari age's helpful cart scans to ID my cybermorph as a 2 meg. I took a shot buying a cheap CM hoping it'd be 2 meg and it was
82-T/A #9 Posted December 30, 2004 I actually kinda like the game.... I don't remember which version I have in my box of carts that I use for playing (as apposed to the ones that I keep in the closet). I was playing it the other day and got somewhat far, I think?? I managed to pick up all the probes on 5 of the 10 planets... heh... I'm guessing that there's many many more levels past those 10 planets in the beginning.. hahaha.. The only thing I don't like about it is when I get stuck in a ravine... it won't let you fly up and over it. But oh well.. that's the game I suppose. When I get more time, and maybe the better controller, I'm going to try to beat it.

justclaws #11 Posted January 23, 2005 Hi! I dont recall any glitches in it. Flawed? Hardly. Why would Atari include such a (as you say) bad game for the Jaguar pack-in? I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread back in the day.I think the single worst thing about Cybermorph was the sound playedas you moved between planets. I hated that sound then. I still do! Other than that I loved the game, and BattleMorph even more... Agh!!! JustClaws.
