PS1 LCD Screen

Recommended Posts

Is the PS1 LCD Screen (the one that attaches to the PSone and makes it like a laptop) worth $35?

Is it possible to attach it to an old model PS1?

I would say its worth it. As if you could use it with an old model, the connectors are the same, so it should work, but how to physicly attach it to the PS, I haven't a clue.

The old psx model CAN NOT hook up to the lcd screen and unless you buy the square one its totaly not worth it. As the other one is a piece of trash really its garbage i have never seen one where the screen wasent washed out as all hell. The square one is of mutch higher quality and a higher price.

The Sony-made one is the best one. The "square one" is the Intec screen and it's OK too, but it consumes more power and isn't as sharp.

Sony screen hands down. You can do this. Get the sony screen, replace the flourecant light with 3 white LED's. Cuts the power dramatically, then go to radio shack, and get a 8AA holder. Find a jack, solder it on, plug it in, and you can play your favorite psx games for a few hours. Use rechargables for best results.

Head on over to www.benheck.com . Its Ben Heckendorns site, the guy who created the vcsp. Also there is a tutorial on how to do the backlight mod on www.doomportables.org . Enjoy!
