Mot #1 Posted January 2, 2005 If you have hand entered new menu items into your cc2 menu, then I would like your help. Can you please run this program that check if they are in the CC2ROMDB.TXT. It puts all the entries that are not in the DB into an output file. You can then post the resulting entries here. You can get the program here: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/Chk4NewMenuItems.html Thank you very much. I will be updating the one I keep on my site: See also: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=61860
Mayhem #2 Posted January 2, 2005 After a bit of thinking, I managed to figure out how to set it up properly per your instructions (I have my ROMs laid out slightly differently directory wise to the standard CC2 structure!) Mot #3 Posted January 2, 2005 After a bit of thinking, I managed to figure out how to set it up properly per your instructions Sorry, I tried to be clear Any suggestions on how to make the instructions more clear would be gladly accepted. (I have my ROMs laid out slightly differently directory wise to the standard CC2 structure!) Does this mean that you have sub-dir’s on your MMC? Or how can you have any different then <root>MENU.CC2 and <root>GAME<gameNames>.BIN? Anyhow I get this output:(clip) Thanks for the new entries, but I forgot to add the CRC to the output! So can you d/l and try it again? Please! Given some games in there are already known about, does this mean the checksum of the dumps I'm running are different to all that you've encountered so far, or are some of my naming convensions off? The program only looks at if the CRC is in the database, so all of these versions of binary files are not in the current database. I don’t know if we need to have an approval process for entries in the database but I will add them to mine.
Mayhem #4 Posted January 2, 2005 By different directory structure, I don't mean on my MMC, I mean on my HD. Where my ROMs are located is deeper than just one sublevel below where I normally store the executables I run (such as the menu generator) and I don't store my master list of ROMs in a directory called GAMES either Rerun it, attached it to maintain column spacing newentries.zip

+Mitch #6 Posted January 2, 2005 Cool stuff, looks like I need to do some updating as well. Mahem, where did you find a PAL Pengo ROM, I've looked all over for one without any luck. Can you post it please. Mitch
Mayhem #7 Posted January 3, 2005 I believe the PAL Pengo ROM came from Marco when I was angling to buy the PAL lab loaner of it from him. Whether the cart I now have is any different to the actual real release (which is about as easy to find heh!) I don't know, but it's all that's out there I guess. Right... let's see here... pengopal.zip

Mayhem #9 Posted January 3, 2005 For the record, it's just as well someone here (ie. me) has a master ROMs directory that has both NTSC and PAL Why I decided to do that, I don't know. Probably because there's lots of games only on NTSC, and I'd want to play the PAL versions of whatever was available too. So I just go for everything! As it stands, my MENU.CC2 file has 1073 entries currently. My policy is to have one version (both NTSC and PAL where possible) of each game and one version only; official where possible, unofficial where one didn't originally exist. No clones, no pirates, no hacks (well almost). Homebrews and protos are in. Although of course some PAL versions are only available via the pirate/clone route and these have been allowed. If a real version exists, then it is used primarily.
Mot #10 Posted January 3, 2005 I added the new entries by MayhemUK and assigned companies to them and I also added companies to other’s that didn’t have them before. I uploaded the updated DB and I updated the: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/Chk4NewMenuItems.html and http://www.geocities.com/mot505/CC2MenuGen.html and just the db at: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/CC2ROMDB.zip I found the the jar in the zip file of the Java Menu Generator didn’t seem to work, so I added just a link to the jar file on the site. I ran the Java Menu Generator with the new entries and I got more recognized roms in the menu. Anyone else have hand entered new menu items in your cc2 menu? Thanks.
