sandmountainslim #1 Posted January 5, 2005 Went into a thrift store north of Bham Alabama this morning looking for Atari carts, lady said she thought there was a box of Atari stuff on a table for ten dollars, bought the box which contained no Atari anything but it did contain a NES with fourteen games seven controllers, four light guns and a PS1 with two analog controllers all working, Was it a good day or what? Susuwatari #2 Posted January 5, 2005 Good day I'd say but often there'd be a glut of stuff in January as people try to dump any old stuff before Dec. 31 so they could claim tax break. I did see several items in Goodwill: NES deck (unknown, power LED won't light up), 1 NES controller, no AV or RF cable. Also a TurboGrafx-16 controller and RF but no console or games. And lefty behind 3x Commodore 1702 monitors (all 3 power LED lit up, no smoke or other obvious problem but couldn't test it) Also left behind several common 2600 carts, mostly text labels for $0.99 to $4.99 each. I did pick up a complete boxed Enduro Racing and California Games for SMS for only $1.99 each (both has blue label for any SMS puritist here ) as well as several PC parts (486DX2 mobo x2 with 50MHz and 66MHz CPU and 12x 4MB 30 pin SIMMs, AMD K6-2 300 with 128MB PC66 and a few odd and ends all for $6 total. If those 4MB 30 pin SIMM checks out, I can probably sell it for lots more than what I paid for and may use that 300MHz AMD for linux. It's too bad there aren't any decent thrift shop in Ann Arbor and those that I know of are usually picked clean by other AA'ers in Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area.
