belboz #3 Posted January 6, 2005 Looking forward to hearing reports on this from users. I did the encryption of this for Beej so the CD you burn will be bootable on standard Jag/CD's. It should also be noted you can use cdrecord on Linux and OSX, and other platforms and burn this too. It is not just limited to the DOS cdrecord version. Goochman #4 Posted January 6, 2005 The record process worked I think - Ill drag me jag out tomorrow and let everyone know the results.
Gregory DG #5 Posted January 6, 2005 Worked for me. It didn't at first, but there was a smudge on the disc. After I cleaned it off it was fine. I ran around for about 15 minutes and never found anyone to talk to. I kept thinking how this could have been modified into a GTA type game.
Astrobeej #6 Posted January 6, 2005 I ran around for about 15 minutes and never found anyone to talk to. Static Gamer has a great Strategy Guide that shows you where to go to find other characters. http://www.staticgamer.com/articles.php?ac...&showarticle=81 I've added a link to it on the web page, too. Serblander #7 Posted January 6, 2005 My one seems to crash a bit here and there. i'm going to copy another one to see if it doesn't crash (as much). Anyone else have this problem? If so, where / at what point does it crash? @ belboz - nice work on the encryption Its good to put it in without having to drag the BS:G out (plus i'm going to copy 2 and give it to my 2 close friends who have Jag CD Add-Ons but no bypass carts) @ Beej - Thanks again for all your help in getting all this great stuff out and making it readily available to the WHOLE (Jag) community
Goochman #8 Posted January 6, 2005 I just tested mine out and it worked great - Wow, this wouldve been a massive game and appears that it would be fun also. I had some problems 'Taxiing' around - if I tried to change scenes from within a bldg it would lock up, but I could just restart and go where I want. Thanks for sharing Astrobeej! Certain #12 Posted January 7, 2005 I was able to burn the cd and start the game, but as soon as I walk a few steps in any direction, the screen gets filled up with funny colors and the game locks up...
Paolo #13 Posted January 8, 2005 This game could have turned out in a big hit. Still, it is nice to go around (thank you for the guide, guys) and meet people and looking at textures. BTW: it worked at the first try Paolo
Astrobeej #14 Posted January 8, 2005 I was able to burn the cd and start the game, but as soon as I walk a few steps in any direction, the screen gets filled up with funny colors and the game locks up... For whatever reason, the game seems to be more stable when you run instead of walking. Hold C down when you pad forward. Beej
Certain #15 Posted January 9, 2005 For whatever reason, the game seems to be more stable when you run instead of walking. Hold C down when you pad forward. Thanks for the hint, I can confirm that now, since I was able to explore the city a little more by "running".

Hyper_Eye #18 Posted January 10, 2005 cdrecord is the backend for most cd buring software in Linux. I will try to burn this in Linux and let you guys know how it went.
Hyper_Eye #19 Posted January 11, 2005 Well... I got this to burn in Linux and it worked great. I attempted to make the batch file executable and simply run that as it should have been usable on the shell but something was wrong. It couldn't find the files and I tried all kinds of things. I then just ran the commands. They worked after I moved -multi and put it before -audio. It seems -audio needs to be followed by the tracks. After those changes it worked great. The game is interesting though I can see that a lot of work was left to be done. I got stuck and had to restart it a couple of times and that elevator area was just plain strange. At one point some girl was following me around so I tested out the gun and it works . Thanks for this.

Hyper_Eye #23 Posted January 13, 2005 I didn't have any problems once I got it burned.
Symmetry of TNG #24 Posted January 13, 2005 I didnt have any problems aswell... burned at 4x speed.... the slower the better... note: I was "amased"/intreged/qurious about the fact that it is "full" 3D ...and not raycasting like i thought in the beginning after watching the video grabs. Rather interesting... might it be ataris 3Dlibs again, perhapps? ....(with own made collision detection.. with some sincere problems sometimes..?) anyhoooo ...thanx again for this release... watching the "actors" trying to do their best for their salary, always brings a smile on my face ;-D cheers /Sym
Hyper_Eye #25 Posted January 13, 2005 The collision detection is definitely not greaty heh.
