Stick Stand

Anyone ever try that Stick Stand, I just tried one and I think it adds much improvement to the 2600 controller. Gives it a arcade feel. I got one in a lot and was very happy, like a new controller !

I'd like to own one, but I'm holding out for a boxed copy. I have seen the base before though, passed without the ball, didn't seem worth it. Looks like it would be cool.

I bought a bunch of them around 1987 or 1988. They are pretty good. I found out that I didn't like putting the thing on top though. Haven't used them in a long time since I rarely play real Atari. Still have a couple in a box somewhere.

I want a double with the "ball top", I have paypal If any one has one extra for sale. I just think this thing is cool, I think it makes the controller faster or seems too for me with Missile Command (best game for Atari XE) !...

I can't imagine using one of those. It would be like crippling the game you're playing. I've always been of the ilk that believes that the standard CX40 joystick is the most perfect form of controller ever devised for videogames. Taking it out of the palm of your hand, setting it in a big clunky base, and putting a giant ball on the top almost seems......... like sacrilege. But as always, that's only my opinion.

I have always wanted one of those MIB, but as far as using them to play my 2600, no way! the way I hold my 2600 controller, the ball at the top would be of no use.

I had two Stick Stands with my 800XL. They worked great since I kept the computer on a desk. I never used them with my 2600 and I'm not sure what happened to them. They might have been thrown away with all the other 800XL stuff I had. Indus GT disk drive, tons of software. Ah, the loss. I still kept the 800XL unit for some reason, though it doesn't work. Well, it was my first computer.

I have the stick stand and grabber ball and never used either of them. Just never found it comfortable to play with. Never saw that red ball though.
