Opinions Needed PC - Vampire, Pirates, LoTR, MoH Pac. Ass.

Recommended Posts

I am planning on buying a couple new pc games and would like to hear some opinions from any who have played them.

1) Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines...... is it good, and do you have to jump through the "steam" hoops to play it since it's HL2 engine? If so, forget it, I'd rather not play.

2) Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle Earth....

3) Sid Meier's Pirates!

4) Medal of Honor Pacific Assault - I thought Allied Assault was very good and Call of Duty is probably the best of the genre ever imho.

Any input/opinions/warnings would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

No steam involved with Bloodlines. A friend of mine has it and he doesn't even have the internet :D

He enjoys the game alot, being able to upgrade your vampire on how to kill the person, like suicide upon sight, puking someone's guts out on command, etc.

Command gut puking. How cool!

Yep get Vampires. Just by that response, you'll enjoy the game quite a lot.

Vampire is a cool game for sure. I haven't beaten it yet but I'm most of the way through. If you like Deus Ex you should like it. It doesn't pull off being a hybrid Action/RPG anywhere near as well as Deus Ex or System Shock because the combat is pretty weak but the atmosphere, story and overall world draw you in.

"Pirates!" is mostly the same game it was 17 years ago, but with todays graphics. There are a couple new minigames as well as small additions to just about every aspect of the game, but overall it still plays and feels like the original. So, if you (like me) are happy with a game that can fascinate you for a couple of hours every now and then, then you probably would enjoy "Pirates!". If your game-taste has changed since the 1980's, and you prefer games that that can fascinate you for a couple of weeks in a row until you have beaten it, then you might prefer one of the other games from your list.
