Tutankham... crap or gold?

I agree. The Atari version is great, but just like the NES version of Double Dragon, too much of the arcade feel is lost.

 

Another thing that makes the game annoyingly difficult is how easy it is to accidentally detonate your flash bombs.

Yes I agree it loses alot in the translation. But I always liked it. There were alot of games around that time that only had one screen...Tutankamen had 4 and they scrolled!!! It does get a tad hard quick tho!

Never having played the arcade version when I was younger I thought Tutankham was great. It really doesn't resemble the arcade game at all, but it's a great game on it's own. The manual really adds alot to the game giving background on all the treasures. I've made it through the whole game collecting all the treasures on 1 life.

Tutankham is gold, baby! I love it. It does get hard fast, but I still love it. It is excellent!

i love this game , my first experience with this game was on the colecovision which i played it to death , then i found a copy for the 2600 about 10 years later and when i played it i went out and got a Colecovision of my own and tutankham

 

but i think both versions are good for there systems and i would give it a Gold Star

For a contradicting view I think its a pain - I dont like the way your bloke can't stand still, infuriates me.

 

But dont let me put you off buying the game, you may love it , one mans Atari game is another mans poisen

Good game, but INCREDIBLY difficult!

 

Make sure you have a good joystick or better yet, a new Genesis pad with a crisp D-pad since you're often faced with situations where lightning quick reflexes are required.

 

Those damn bats can be tough!

I loved the arcade version, but I think the 2600 version loses a lot in the translation. If you have a ColecoVision though, it has a better version of the game. The Atari version is still pretty good though, and is worth picking up.
