J.Max #1 Posted January 8, 2005 I just got a new Colecovision system, and I can't get any sound. Anyone here ever have this problem, or know of anywhere else I might be able to get help?
Famicoman #2 Posted January 8, 2005 Are there any cuts in the RCA cable? Did you check the motherboard for detachments? You might want to post this in Hardware.
joeybastard #3 Posted January 9, 2005 I would try a different RF cable. It's detachable on the CV.
doubledown #4 Posted January 9, 2005 Is there completely no sound, or is there a loud annoying humming/buzzing?
Bruce Tomlin #5 Posted January 9, 2005 I just got a new Colecovision system, and I can't get any sound. Anyone here ever have this problem, or know of anywhere else I might be able to get help? If you're lucky, it's just a bad connection to the RF modulator, maybe a bad solder joint. I had one where a bad solder joint on one of the chroma lines caused the display to go all sepia-toned. You've still got to open it up to fix it, though.
J.Max #6 Posted January 9, 2005 I opened it up, and there doesn't seem to be anything obviously wrong with it. I can't see where the RF connector goes in, because theres a board on top that I can't remove. I have tried three RF cables, and still nothing.
J.Max #7 Posted January 9, 2005 Oh, and there is absolutely no sound. No buzzing, no nothing.
joeybastard #8 Posted January 9, 2005 Forgive me if this sounds dumb but you're not plugging the RF cable directly into an RCA video jack on your TV are you?
J.Max #9 Posted January 9, 2005 No, I'm not. That wouldn't give me this problem anyway; it would just give me a garbled mess. I'm using a RCA/Coax adaptor and going into the coax input, like I do with all of my older systems.
