How "Rare" is a Gravitar Silver label?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I Know what the DPG says about it, but I don't often see it come up anywhere for sale. Are they tighter in the market to find than say Waterworld? I know they are not cheap, just wondering how often they change hands.

Thanks,

Cassidy

Good Question. I have seen Silver Gravitars on Ebay on occasion, but It's possible that people just lump many of them in with their regular game lots as just another Gravitar.

I have Gravitar still sealed in the original packaging. It's probably the red label one, but I don't want to open it. Does anyone know if the box was different also?

There are currently 4 sealed "red packaged" Gravitars on ebay right now. I put a bid in for a copy for $3.25. All bids are currently under the $5 mark, so I'm guessing that this game (at least the red package version) isn't as rare as you may think.

My red label copy came in a red box... I would assume a silver label version would come in a silver box.. anyone got one? (Did the Atari Video Club exclusives even come in boxes?)

Yeah,

I have a red sealed one too. I am trying to fill in the missing two from the Atari Club six. I need a Waterworld and Gravitar. WW is just a matter of shelling out the moolah, but I really want it to have the poster, too. Thats why I was wondering how much extra I should plan to set aside for the silver label Grav.

Anybody have one they wanna trade for some rare Astrocade games?

I would trade you my Waterworld cart with the poster, but first I would have to track down the guy that my brother loaned all of our Atari stuff to in about 1990 (he hasn't returned it yet). I was a little irritated when I got back into Atari and found out what Waterworld was worth.

As for Gravitar, I think I'll just leave it sealed so that I can pretend MAYBE it is the silver label one. It just seems wrong to open games from their original shrink wrap. Even common ones.

Marco was kind enough to send me a nice scan of his Silver Gravitar box, and I've put it online for everyone to see. Thanks, Marco! Now all we need is a scan of the manual that came with it! When are you going to break that shrinkwrap?

Absolutely!

Actually, I was talking to Albert about this. That darn shrinkwrap is slowly crushing the box. A shrinked boxed game is a nice collectable, but is it better than a non-shrinked and non-crushed boxed game?

Cheers,

Marco
