Atari to television, monitor, ?

Any ideas on what's best to hook up the Atari to?? I know the old Commodore 1702 monitors are popular. But, wouldn't a new television give a better picture? What size is best for a desk in a room where you would sit pretty close. What do you all have hooked up? Lastly, any television brands better than others -- I probably will go to the pawn shop looking this weekend.

I rewired my 2600 for composite video and have it wired to my Pioneer 56" HDTV through the DVD player. Now when I play Haunted House, the Ghoust scares the crap out of me in simulated dobly surround sound.

For the best picture, I'd say to rewire the thing for composite output, and hook it to a new TV. Commodore monitors are good, but they're probably starting to get a little blurry with age, so chances are that a new TV would give a better picture.
