COMBAT 2

Recommended Posts

I just won a MIB copy of Combat 2 from Ebay for $85.00, do you think I paid to much for it? and if anyone else here has played it yet, what do you think about it?

:) :ponder: :?

The gameplay is nothing special.  Its not very playable.

I think that two players who like to play Combat could get into a quick game of Combat 2.

Hey PB, I just got my copy of Combat II end of November last. I agree, it isn't that great a game but it isn't the worst either.

I paid £46GBP for my copy, roughly about $85US. The week before I got my copy, another sold for £77, about $140?

Speaking as a collector's item I think you got a fair deal. :)

Speaking as a gamer.... :ponder:

I placed a small bid on that auction also. I think you got a good deal. I have been trying to get on from a fellow Atari Age member lately but slow to finish deal. If I had not been working on this deal i might have bid around $100! Would that have won? :D

At $85, I think you got a fine deal... I paid $103.50 (+ shipping and insurance) for mine, last April. :) Ironically, I never got around to playing it until November/December of last year, and while it wasn't as amazing as I thought it was going to be, a friend of mine and I did have some fun with it for a half-hour or so.

As far as prototype reproductions go, I'm still on the lookout for Elevator Action and The Entity... but having Combat II meant more to me than those two combined.

Good job!

I paid £30 for my copy from eBay a few months back, which wasn't much more than it originally sold for at CGE actually. That was opened. I did however pay a bit more for an unopened Elevator Action...

Are we talking about the repro's that were selling for $25 here before Atari pulled the plug?!

Damn.

Nope. Mine was one of the boxed, released copies sold at one of the conventions a few years back - back when I was not quite "in the know" and wasn't aware that someone was making cool boxed reproductions like Combat 2. When I found out about it (too late to get them during the original run), I was soooooooo torqued off.

Then, last year, I saw one of 'em on eBay... and I knew I was going to be losing a good chunk of money soon after.

Woof.

Personally this is one of those cases where a box don't mean s#%t to me, because for $25 I can play the game. Why shell out up to a hundred more on eBay for a box and manual? It was a handmade release anyway. You could always print and fold your own box and manual.

No, I was ready to go as high as $125.00 for it.

I was in the same boat! when I found out about it, it was too late for me to get a copy, plus my 4 emails to the makers went unaswered, which pissed the hell out of me.

  :x

A complete boxed game means everything to me, if I was to get every game I wanted with out the box, my collection would be almost complete today. I love not only the games, but I also love the art work on the boxes them selves.
