Buddy,you don't even want to THINK about removing the HD from

an IBM 365XD ThinkPad!

I would think that there is some setting in your BIOS to boot from

the PCMCIA slot.

 

For what you want to do,all you should need is to format the card drive

with the system files and a CD-ROM driver and run Win98SE setup from

your CD drive.
