Colecovision Not Working Right -- any tips?

Hey all -- I FINALLY got around to setting up my Colecovision. It's been in safe storage since 1996, and it played perfectly then ... I set it up, popped in Donkey Kong (and later other carts), and the screen is little jumbled. Letters are weird, graphics aren't right, etc. It seems that the sytem and not carts is to blame. Is there a quick fix to this problem? Any help appreciated!

i believe the stock answer is bad power switch, take er apart and give it a cleaning. i'd goto a google groups search to get this in greater detail.
