Ralph3 #2 Posted January 19, 2005 I remember seeing those boxes. I wish I remember WHERE I saw them. It might have been Montgomery Wards,Best (not Best Buy), Zody's, maybe Service Merchandise, when the box gets damaged and replaced with this type of box. I had a few back in the day. When I lived in L.A. CA. FP games (most of them?) came in big clamshell/gatefold plastic cases.
holygrailvideogames.com #3 Posted January 19, 2005 That is not the original box. I have seen Atari, Intellivision, and Colecovision games sold in those boxes and they have been by different manufacturers.
Mindfield #4 Posted January 19, 2005 As have I -- in fact, I'd forgotten all about those boxes 'til I saw that auction. I had a few 2600 games back in the day that came in those boxes. I don't remember what, though, but I do remember that for some reason I didn't really think anything of them. This was around mid-crash '84 though, so in all probability they're common clearance boxes used by a lot of different department stores. (Not so common now of course)
CPUWIZ #5 Posted January 19, 2005 I have a few of those boxes available, they contain 5200 games, just in case anyone wants one.
