Tempest
My old Apple IIe is having a video problem. The monitor either has no picture, or it's a bunch of broken jagged lines. If I wiggle the cable where it plugs into the computer for a few mintues I can get the picture to come up but if I bump it it disappears again. Given these symptoms I assumed it was something wrong with the video jack on the mother board, but it looks ok. I don't see any broken solder or anything like that. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong? Tempest
+-^CrossBow^-
Loose or broken sync wire on the monitor cable or connector is my guess Matt...
Rockin' Kat
Are you using composite video? I know that with my //c is picky about what kind of RCA cables are used... the ones that usually came atatched to the Atari 2600 for RF will not work with it.. well you can get something if you move the plug around. Changing it to a normal Composite Video cable bought from a store got rid of the problem. I'm not really sure why though.
Tempest
Nope I just replaced the cable with a real composite cable and it still doesn't work right. Like I said, I get a broken picture but if I wiggle and twist the plu long enough I can get it to come up normally but if I bump it again it's gone. It's gotta be something on the board. Tempest
Fixed it! The problem was that the jack had gotten a little lose and the monitor needed some adjustment. Works perfectly now. Tempest
