Hacking NES/Famicom Joystick Games?

Recommended Posts

I saw a message board for people that are hacking the C-64 30 in one. Is anyone doing anything similar to joystick games that contain NES compatable hardware?

Someone here (Rob Mitchell???) hacked a DB-9 port onto the original Namco stick to add 8-way motion. . .

Haven't heard about any others. My guess is nobody wants to bother with the cheap pieces of crap.

two things that come to mind

- most if not all nintendo based joystick games have the black blob on the board, making them much harder to work with.

- the widely available "megajoy" and similar controllers already have a working famicom cart slot, whats left to hack?

Hack in a small color TV and have a portasble NES/Famicom system. Unlike emulator, the Famicom clone will work with just about every NES and FC carts ever made.

There were expansions available in Japan that included a keyboard and BASIC language, etc. Game cartridges are not the whole world.
