New xasm compatible assembler MADS in new version

Recommended Posts

I like both, XASM and MADS, but it looks like MADS has more powerful features. One, which amazes me most, is the use of procedures/routines with optional parameters and use of local variables. The .BYTE directive behaves like .SBYTE in MAC/65, with the facility to automatically convert ATASCII codes to screen codes in the string. So, is it safe to use this directive instead of DTA in some circumstances? DTA is very powerful MADS directive, by the way.

I used MADS on the C64 years ago. I like the assembler, and being able to use the basic editor was very handy.
